The curtains would amost have to be straight to that your hard work does not get lost. I personally would make a gathered curtain with a flat/straight top and do the work on it. Or you could use "tabs" for the curtain to create a straight appearence and do your work across the botton 1/4 - 1/3 of the curtain. Hope that this helps.

I would think that a plain curtain (no gathers) with tab hangers would fit in well with church type decor , and give maximum visibility to your embroidery.
It sounds like a big project you've taken on jenne. I wish you all the luck with getting it done!

That sounds great you could put angles on the top.

Or, you could make gathered or pleated curtains with a straight valance across the top. The valance could have the scriptures embroidered on it.

What about a type of roman shade, where there is a verse on each panel, between the folds. That way, when they are lowered you see more of the verses, and they are readable because they are horizontal. Hope this makes sense.

All great ideas Ladies. I like the Roman shade idea. The more they close - the more gospel they get! The link below has a lot of versies already digitized. Just in case you did not have it.

Stitching on the roman shade sounds like more work than anything else.

Roman shades, also known as fabric shades, combine the beauty of fabric window treatments with the easy operation of a shade. Elegant and versatile, roman shades come in a wide variety of styles and features from insulated, to room darkening and blackout, to light filtering and sheer. Roman shades have the style and options that can work well with almost any decor.
