Wow, that is beautiful.

I did this one bodice and sleeves in the hoop & then sewn together pretty easy I got the original design from HeartNSole which is adorable by itself , I wanted a more heirloom look so I embroidered rosebuds all over the bodice & just made the sleeves plain adding an embroidered sleeve band with FSL attached. Made the skirt yardage longer & fuller so I could do a couple rows of smocking then did a corded pintuck scalloped hem & border. Fits my doll pretty nice she wears 3-6 months. hope the pics attached ok. Hugs,Sue
Wow, that is beautiful.

Oh my, just beautiful. I love it.
Wow! I am impressed and inspired.
Wow, that dress is gorgeous ! Great work ! Lovely doll, too. I thought she was a baby at first. I've never been brave enough to try smocking, but it sure looks beautiful here !
Dorrie, wondering how that'd look on her Baby Crissy doll...
Hi Ladies, thanks for all the sweet comments, I love spending time in the sewing room, I get a whim of inspiration every now & then & something like this comes of it..I tried it on my doll to see just how big it would fit. A lady already laid claims to it when I first started it now I want to keep it! LOL I guess it'll depend on the $$. I am working on a slip & bonnet to match will post when finished. Hugs, Sue
What beautiful work. Would make a fantastic christening gown. You mentioned you did the bodice in the hoop. It looks like it is smoked (spelling?). Was it done first then embroidered in the hoop? I have never tried that. Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful project.

Hi Lynn, I did the top part in the hoop. I smocked the skirt just a couple rows then added it to the top.
