      Smile 6x9 Butterfly Quilt Blocks

      Hi Everyone,

Stupid question again. Has anyone sewn out the 6x9 Butterfly Quilt Blocks. I downloaded the charts, but the material in the background ..... is it bought fabric. I cannot see any corner patterns. Help!

if I look at the designs the butterflies in the middle and two squares are embroidered and the rest should be your own fabric. So there are no patterns in the four small corners.

      Hi Saskia,

Thank you so much for replying to my query. I thought it was bought fabric behind the squares, but I am colour blind and also at the moment have had an operation on my nose for cancer which makes wearing glasses very difficult. I am smiling now saskia knowing the answer. Hope it is fine in Odijk, the Netherlands. Wow what a small world. I am in Australia Brisbane Queensland actually. Have a lovely day or night, and again thanks. Cheers , Shirley

Ossie/Shirley...please post a picture of your block when you get it finished. Would love to see how it stitches out.

      Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your emails. I have another couple of projects going at the moment, but once I buy some appropriate material for the background will definitely let you know how it goes. Thanks again. Cheers Shirley

I stitched this out in the 4x4 size, just doing the embroidery lines, not adding the applique fabric. It appears to have a lot of unnecessary stitching and some of the pieces are very small in this size. Maybe I don't understand how it is to be done. Has anyone else tried this pattern?
Oh, I have to edit this post. I am not referring to the 6x9 Butterfly Quilt Blocks but the 4x4 Butterfly Quilt Block, that makes the shape of a butterfly, a different pattern altogether.

but works in the same way... it is also an applique pattern.
On several places in this forum is written how to do Machine Embroidery Applique.....
After you read some of the instructions I'm sure you'll understand how to...

      Smile Butterfly Quilt

      Hi Queen of Hearts,

I haven't tried this Butterfly Quilt yet ... have been busy doing other projects. Never enough time in the day is there? I have bought the fabric to make this quilt, but it seems like it will be awhile before I get to it.
Thanks so much for the input. I have found a lot of the outlines on the designs go over and over too many stitches. Maybe Sick could remedy this sometime hey? Thanks again.

      Cheers,

      Shirley
