Maybe if you use heavy weight cut-away stabilizer it might work. I havnt done any pillow cases so Im not much help. Try to use a less dense design something like Redwork might work better for you
I'm having trouble embroidering on pillow cases. I've tried doing it on the "hem" and also up in the actual case. But they pucker just the same. The design is a "filled design" so it is a little intense. I've jused 3 layers of disolve stablizer but hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

Marvelyn, I would like a little more information before replying. What type of material are you embroidering on for instance? Is it cotton? You should make sure you are using the right stabilizer for the material, equally important is the right size needle. What size needle are you using? If puckers occur can sometimes be due to a large size needle for the job. Try a smaller sized one and see if this will help. Thank you, kt3234 Karen
Hi,
Karen asked some good questions in her reply (type of fabric, type & size of needle, etc.) Another item to check is the design's density. If you have embroidery software, then you may be able to view and adjust the density. It depends upon the software you have.
If you do not have any software, a shortcut for reducing density is enlarge the design slightly. You can do this on most embroidery machines.
Here's how it works: if a design has 10,000 stitches and was digitized to stitch in a 3"x3" area, then if you enlarge the design, it will still have 10,000 stitch but those stitches will be s-p-r-e-a-d o-u-t over a slightly larger area, like 3.4" x 3.4".
A word of caution: this is just a 'work-around'; it's not really the optimum method. The downside to this shortcut is it can lead to 'bald spots' depending upon the design. (A 'bald spot' is where the fabric shows through the embroidery stitches, and not in good way, like redwork.)
Hope this helps,
Susan (aka Screenbags)
I would make sure you aren't hooping your pillowcase too tightly. Sometimes if you pull the fabric too tight in the hoop and stitch when it is unhooped you may see tiny looking puckers from the fabric being over stretched in the hoop.
