Bre, I am glad (I think) that you posted the fat quarters info. I am saved the trouble of begging

Now, do I understand that this is a monthly club thing? Hope so because I am lazy and not so great at matching fabrics. I just got another order for a full size quilt!! That is 3 singles, a California King and now the full so I am busy making money to pay for the new quilter.

Yes it is a monthly club and there are several different ones.. I joined the Christmas Fat quarter club because I liked the fabrics best of all and they are all Christmas/winter themed but you may like one of the other clubs. They all seem to have some Christmas fabrics for different months but The one I joined has only Christmas fabrics. They must have a dozen different monthly clubs. The one I joined is $30 a month plus $5 membership fee and $4.95 shipping and handling a month.

To see what fabrics you get each month look at the top of the page and click on "shop by collection" and look for the name of the set for that month. For instance in July I will get Christmas Magic so look at the collection called Christmas Magic, it will show you every fabric you get for that collection. You can also by all of these fabrics by the half yard which I have done a lot of to get me started. They are $4.75 I believe it was per half yard.

I hope all this info makes sense to you, if not you can go there they do explain how each club works.

That’s cool that you can quilt for some extra money to help pay for your new baby.

      Happy quilting

Thanks for the link Bre for the fabric and the videos. I was going to ask that this afternoon. I've settled on my blocks to make - but have been searching for fabric. Not had much luck locally - although there are two quilt shops I want to try.

I've been thinking about buying some fabric online. Never done that before though. I guess I'm old fashioned enough to want to touch and feel it first. To really see it in my mind what the finished product will look like. To put it up next to the co-ordinating fabics. (Wow - that sounded like a real quilter didn't it - lol). But I do that for clothes too!

Thats what I told her too, hehe.

I am not sure who had the toughest time getting our blocks all put together for the first swap, but I think it was me or maybe Jstitch. I think it was jstitch that was the first one to cut her blocks wrong then I did it and not once but a few times and we weren't the only ones either but I learned from her not to cut them all at once, so if you do make a mistake its only one block not a lot of your material.

I know both her and I said we had enough rejects to make another quilt, hehe LOL. Now I think we were way too hard on ourselves as we were told many times by the swapmeister (Elizabeth), and we learned so very much from everyone in the swap especially the swapmeister our very own (Elizabeth).

      Deb
What did you do look back to when I posted the link and info for Fat quarters before? Thats when I gave the info about it having a monthly club, not last night. What do you have a photographic mind,or do you still have one of those fresh young minds, unlike like the rest of us with early alzsheimers setting in, LOL.

Your welcome, your so right at this time of year there isn't very much holiday fabrics around, even online there wasn't that many places. Yes you sound like the quilter that you are, a good one. I found Fat quarters when I was doing a search for Christmas fabrics myself right after we started this swap. The Fat quarter has very good pictures of the fabrics, and I have bought from them 3 times now with no problems and they also have very fast service too. The fabrics are of good quality and are exactly as they are shown on the web site.

Here are some of the fabrics I have got so far but my monthly shipment isn't here yet. Check these out, you'll fall in love with there fabrics.

I also recall reading someone saying they didn't know how to do attachments yet. All you have to do is click on the manage attachments button below the window where you do the replys, and it has buttons there that says brouse, click on that and find the attachment you want to upload. Then click upload and post it.
      Happy quilting

Bre- I love those fabrics!!! the poinsettia and the the tree ones - fabulous!!! I may have to take the plunge after all! But I will check the two quilt shopes here first. My philiosphy - shop at home first - keep business local - or I could loose them! and I don't want to do that!

Oh, how pretty - I really love the group on the right - bringing in that blue - I think it would totally spark up a red and green quilt.

I did a Christmas print star quilt on unbleached muslin - it's okay, but I should have mixed in more colors - I had every shade of red and green, but not enough sparks of yellow and blue. And I'm still thinking of dressing it up with some giant holly leaves appliqued' on in the center and at the corners. It's pretty plain as it is.

I've been collecting fabrics for a second holiday quilt for over a year, now - I just hope I'll think of something interesting to do with them.

I like how the sunbonnets came out, but fall is too busy for me to plan to do a lot of hand work, so it will probably be something pieced.

      Great fabric Bre.

Don't forget me in the many "mistakes blocks" left over from our first swap. I did not cut mine all at once. I made my mistakes...one at a time.LOLOL

I did pick up fabric for maybe 2-3 blocks for the next swap.
I am not touching it though, need to finish my blocks from this one.
Then... help ! ..well "brainstorming session" anyway on the floral blocks.
      Then...help!!!! LOL

      Enjoy the posts..as always...

Please post a picture of your holiday quilt hun I for one would love to see it. I bet it's not as plain as you think it is at all, and if it does need a little dressing up, I bet you can do that with like you said some holly leaves or a fancy binding or something like that.

      Luna
I did say there were others who had the same troubles as we did and that included you too. LOL

My blocks are still sitting here because I too have to make more blocks for it, and I will soon; but now I started appliqueing blocks for the new swap.

Mary, I think the deadline for signing up is the middle of September and we won't know until then how many blocks we're going to make.

Bre, it's in my album, but here's one shot of it:

I should have gone with pretty borders or something colorful in the filler blocks - or both. It's very plain. And there are hardly any corners where all four seams line up properly. But, it wasn't bad for such an early quilt and it was actually fun to sew all those flying geese blocks.

I have been up in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina! DH wants to sell out and move up there so I agreed to LOOK! I am so terrified that I will not find a home as large and wonderful as this one but I do love the mountains so very much. Anyhow, we went white water rafting this late this morning. Just literally got home. Shall try to post pictures.

Welcome, welcome to our newest members. I love seeing our group grow.

The blue poinsetta fabric is great. I haven't seen anything like it before.
"Somehow" I ended up in a quilt shop yesterday--imagine that? But there was nothing that just sparked my creativity. I had wanted to go with blues and they had nothing but I wont give up, new fabrics come in all the time , and lucky for me --there is more than one quilt shop in the world.

Wow I love it just the way it is, as far as am concerned it doesn't need any thing because the light background makes the star blocks pop perfectly. You have enough binding around the outside, yes if you wanted to you could put a larger boarder there or better yet if you want it to pop more put a double border there.

Welcome aboard Mary, you will have a blast with us and if you need anything or are looking for something you just need to ask.
