Hahahah! No, you can't blame/credit me with that, Deborah! You already had quilt books and a stash before you met me!

I'm so happy for your new "toy" - what an exciting time - and if you and hubs learn to operate it together, what a team you could make! This is going to be so much fun for you.

I agree with Deb it's all your fault for my new addiction too, and the only stash I had was scraps from making clothes not quilts hehe. Now I need another me to make continue to make clothes and one to make quilts. I have plans to make each of my children and grand children each one not to mention each of my brothers and sisters too. Boy will they be surprised when they see there quilts they'll think my mom was reincarnated, LOL.
I am having so much fun with my new machine making blocks that I am making a lot more complicated blocks than I did last time. Thanks for passing your addiction on to me.
      Happy quilting

Hey, hey, hey now.... if y'all think you're gonna get away with "blaming" me, HA! It ain't gonna work!

The addiction was already there - you just needed a teeeeeeniest bit of prodding to push you over the edge! I didn't do it!

Bre, I'm planning quilts for all of my siblings and children and grandchildren, too. Two of my grandchildren and three of my children are coming in July and I'm hoping to teach 13-year-old how to make his own quilt, and the 3-year-old and I will sit at another machine together and put her "fairy dust" quilt together for as long as she likes sitting there.

I'm really happy to see more people so enthusiastic about quilting - and I wish I hadn't wasted so many years thinking that quilting is too hard and time consuming.

I honestly thought that a king-size quilt was going to be a year-long or two-year project! What a lovely surprise to find that I could collect fabrics, cut pieces, assemble a top, quilt and bind a king-size quilt in two weeks! And I made another simply pieced king-size quilt in about a week. Not life-long projects, just a life-long hobby.

Elizabeth even though you MAY be right about the prodding you are still on the hook or needle

I can not believe I thought I could not do this! I have made several quilts now and am having the time of my life. Only have to learn to use the quilting machine which is not as easy as I thought that it would be.

I will get my fabric tomorrow to start my holiday quilt blocks. This is really exciting!

Yeah, there's a learning curve for that setup, but I'll bet that once you get the hang of it, you're going to be really good at it!

Your right as usual hun, I have always loved quilts especially hand made ones, and the idea of making my own. I also thought it would take me a lifetime to make just one LOL. I have always had a heck of a stash for making clothing but now my quilt stash is surpassing it by far. I think I am a "fabri -a-holic" hehe, where is the nearest meeting at hehe. I thank God my hubby understands, I already have spent $300 for my Christmas fabrics hehe.

In July Joanne's has there Christmas in July sale on Christmas fabrics and i'll be the first in line hehe.

      Deb
You'l get the hang of it pretty fast I am sure and when you do watch out!!! You'll be making many completed quilts every week and once all your family has one you can sell them and make a little side buisness.
      Happy quilting ladies

Atist-Bre, I think it was about 4 years ago that machine came out. I can't remember exactly but I think mine is about 4 now.I apologize for taking so long to "write in". I have had my time pretty much taken up with taking care of my DIL and my 22 mo. old grandson.............who is more like my own since his mom was diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was pregnant with him. ( She has not ever had the chance to bond with him but grandma has!) My DIL has lived 5 going on 6 weeks longer than the hospice DR. thought she could. It is a very stressful situation here! The older 3 kids are so whiney and cranky all the time and pick on each other all the time. She really can't function in any way on her own any more. It is hard when you are living on a time bomb! Sorry for going on, I don't like to talk about only the yuck in my life it's just that's all there is right now!!!!!!!!!!! Joyce

Oh Joyce that's such a hard situation to be in - and the children are probably too young to understand that every minute with Mom is now precious, aren't they? I can certainly understand why you feel that life is pretty "yuck" right now and I'm so sorry. Is your DIL able to communicate, now? I hope that she is and that you're able to chatter and bring her some moments of diversion. God bless you all - it's a true tragedy.

My heart goes out to you and your family hun, and my prayers are with you. I sure understand what you all' are going through and I know it's been 4 long years for you. I sure hope you all’ get some peace soon and your DIL gets some much needed relief.

I imagine your grandchildren are young and can't understand what is going on with their mommy right now especially the baby, but they are all so very lucky to have you.

Don’t worry about venting to us here we all understand, and if it helps you please vent away anytime. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question even though it wasn’t a big deal either way, I was just curious.

Please take care of yourself and try to take a bit of time for yourself occasionally. I am so happy you joined us in this swap it may be your saving grace.

I am sending you all good vibes and asking God’s angels to be with you and your family.

God Bless you and your family.

[QUOTE=quilt-silly;162593]I'll be excited for you, Joyce! A beautifully made machine is a joy forever! The newness wears off, but the perfection lasts

My oldest machine is from 1894 - but it's beautiful and it's still perfectly doing exactly what it was made to do, 115 years later.

Thank You Elizabeth ! I can't beleive what a font of knowledge you are! Loved the site for the wheat bales for gardening and the Jesse Tree!! I also am very impressed with your antiques!! Thanks Again, Joyce

Sending more prayers and cyber hugs to you and your family. I wonder if the children are just so angry that they can't help their mommy. Maybe their whiney, cranky, picking on each other is the only way they know how to cope with what's going on. They are all so blessed to have a grandma like you. And it's okay to talk here. We can't imagine what you are suffering right now, but hopefully we can listen and walk beside you as your friends.

Thanks hun, welcome back. Glad to have your hands in this swap too . Yep you’re correct about the swap. The only thing really required like last swap is 12.5" blocks in a winter theme which means:
Christmas, religious or secular and including all of the other holidays that occur at this time of year, things like Christmas, Chanukah, winter scenes, or just blocks with Christmas materials, embroidered or not, or appliqued; basically it’s what you believe in for this season. The name blocks are up to you if you want to make them, they are not required.
      Hope this explains it all.

      Happy quilting

I'm ready NOW!!! I found some fabulous fabric's on E-Bay, they are all holiday designs, and got them in today! I am ready to start planning now. Knowing me there are going to be 30 some odd totally different blocks because I can't settle on one holiday theme! I keep seeing all these different style of quilt blocks that I love and the different embroidery designs boggle my brain! Way to excited right?!?

Glad to have another on board. School is now out. Report cards handed in and I am getting antsie to get started. Right now I am thinking I'll do a set of embroidered blocks and a set of pieced/applique blocks. I really hope more will get interested and sign on.
