Oh Artist Bre! I am so happy for you on the purchase of such a wonderful machine! I have gotten into quilting in a big way so I would just love to have one of those myself. Glad you got a lot of blocks done already and wish you many, many hours of happy sewing with this beauty. If you tire of it you know where to send it, lol! Thank you, kt3234 Karen

Yes thanks you guys, I agree she is a beauty.

Now as soon as I make the rest of the blocks and get my binding on it, then I can get my quilt top together. Starting tomorrow my son if off for the summer so that will make it a bit harder and slower too, getting it together.

      Mrs buckeye
I would love to have Chanukah blocks from you, I can't wait to see what you make for us. I think this will be the most interesting quilts ever made by anyone, with all of our different talents and beliefs in one quilt, how beautiful and wonderful too. I was actually going to put a menorah on a couple of mine because I have always loved them and I am not even Jewish but many of my friends are.
      Happy quilting ladies

I certainly am expecting at least one minora, and trees, and mangers, and families and all sorts of things. I've started looking at some beautiful blue fabrics. Only 2 school days with kids and 2 inservice days and sweet summer freedom. I too have a Janome machine and LOVE it. You will get so spoiled. It is beautiful.

I'll be excited for you, Joyce! A beautifully made machine is a joy forever! The newness wears off, but the perfection lasts

My oldest machine is from 1894 - but it's beautiful and it's still perfectly doing exactly what it was made to do, 115 years later.

Bre, I know you're having a great time trying out that new baby - it's unbelievable, all the bells and whistles they put on these machines.

I am so hoping to get a menorah in the mix! I was thinking of doing old testament symbols, myself.

One of the old Advent traditions of Christianity is the Jesse tree - that's a small tree or a branch hung with reminders from the old testament. http://www.jesse-tree.com/jesse_tree.html

Thanks GrandmaRia, SusieQ, Dollyj and Elizabeth.

Now I want one of those fancy sewing tables to fit my embroidery machine and my new baby , but that won't be until around the holidays, in the mean time my hubby is going to custom fit this one for me.

      dollyj
When did they come out with this machine? I know I have seen a newer one that they came out with now but this one was such a good deal I had to have it.

      SussieQ
I am waiting now for my fabrics to arrive today that I ordered last week and some of it is the dk blues and matching fabrics. I also have to ask is you I love your name, is SussieQ your nick name? It's my nick name. My middle name is sue and my daddy and all my brothers and sisters always called me that and some still do called me SussieQ. hehe

      Elizabeth
I have seen the Jesse tree and thats such a kool idea I can't wait to see it in blocks. Oh my an 1894 machine wow, what one do you have? I would love to see a picture of it.

The machine I was talking in my last post is my dream machine, it's the Janome Memory Craft 11000. It's a embroidery quilting and sewing machine. It has all the bells and whistles on it and runs 8 thousand but my sewing machine repair guy is a Janome dealer too, and he discunts its pretty good but it still was 6.5 thousand. Too much for me LOL.

Yeah, that's too rich for my blood, too. But, we can dream and drool, can't we?

I seem to find a lot of embroidery machines on craigslist. I can't afford one right now, but when it's time to get one, I will be watching craigslist for a while. I've seen some really good deals on there.

      Default new quilting machine

Guess what!?!? My quilting machine and frame came in a whole day early!! I was in Charlotte within a couple of hours of her arrival. Took awhile this evening but hubby and I pretty much got her together. Will NOT play tonight, way to tired and really don't want to stitch the fingers into anything Plus I have to hook up the stitch regulator and several other things tomorrow.

The frame is a 10 foot Inspira and a Pfaff grand quilter hobby 1200.

Elizabeth you are responsible for all of this! you have created a monster and I LOVE you for your e-mails, our phone conversation and the posts to encourage me into the wonderful world of quilting.

Oh wow Teddy- I bet you are one happy and very excited lady. You will be quilting up a storm now.

Elizabeth - I've never heard of a Jesse tree. That sounds pretty cool. I just know this quilt is going to be full of gergeous blocks of a very wide variety. I can't wait to see what we get. I'm more excited about this swap then the lst one - lol!!

Best, best, best wishes with your new machine. I love to do longarm quilting. It is so rewarding and while not instant gratification it is the closest thing to it in the quilting world. Enjoy.
