OK, told DH I am totally planning to be there, it is 380 miles from here but sounds like a super fun time!! We can party plan more in the next couple of days so that I can get lodging and stuff. I have my Allegro Bay but might be easier to take the car because of the mountains that I have to go thru.

oh man, and I was in California in July Went to LA - Disney and San Diego to Sea World. Really beautiful, green state. The drive from San Diego to LA was beautiful because of the landscape and scenery.

Anyone else who would like to join the quilt shop hop is welcome. The way it works is you buy a passport for $5. All of the $5 goes to a local charity. The last time it went to a shelter for abused women. A worthy cause!. Then you go from shop to shop and get your passport stamped. Each shop sells a package of a block for the Quilt that is being done. Each shop makes a their version of the quilt. the last time it was so cool to see 6 different quilts made with the same 12 blocks.

This quilt shop hop is 12 quilt shops. So there will be 12 versions Each shop sells the stuff to make one block. Each shop is a unique block. They also sell a kit to complete the quilt for thier version. Or sell extra fabric used to make the quilt so you can finish it off the way you want.

If you don't wish to buy the quilt blocks - you still get your passport stamped. Get it stamped by all 12 shops - then turn it in at the last shop and you get placed in a drawing. The last one first prize was a new sewing machine - a bunch of fat quarters from each shop. Some baskets of goodies - I can't remeber all it was.

Plus you get the opportunity to see a wide variety of fabrics and quilts in each of the shops. We had so much fun doing the last one. We met a lot of quilters and and talked to a lot of people who enjoyed it as much as we did.

I am reserving my spot for my motor home tomorrow! Told DH that this is going to be so much fun. I am leaving him and the little ones home and spending the weekend shop hopping! Thank you for the invitation!

Hmmm Quilters Travel companion. I like the sound of that Klarina. Is that like a magazine for the entire US or something for California?

This is a thick book with tons of Quilt Shops around the country. They are organized by state. I have the 2006-2008 edition. This is the cover of the 2009-2010 edition I downloaded from their website.

Should someone come to visit to So Cal, I would buy the newest edition asap. LOL

P.S. Don't you love the picture of the cover?

      Default shop hop

Camping and shopping can it get any better! Can't wait till we go tndenium and teddy.

Is the quilter's travel companion for shops in a certain state or is it all over the U.S?

Also there is a web site www.strollingtheblock.com I have really enjoyed this site. It has a bingo game you can join. The way it works is you sign up and a bingo card is emailed to you, you can play as many as you want. Everyday numbers are posted. Right now there are 30 of us playing. The winner gets 1 fat quarter per card that is in play, so if you lose and you are playing 1 card you send in 1 fat quarter, if you are playing 3 cards you send in 3 fat quarters. Check out the site if you are interested.

Anyway I have half of my blocks finished. My next day off I plan on finishing the rest.

      Happy sewing to everyone!!

You girls will have a blast..I have my blocks all done and can hardly wait to get the ones you are working on. I am leaving next Friday for CleElum Washingto to see a great aunt and my cousin that do all the quilting. Reynola always is working on a new technique or a new class or a new book, I love to see her stuff..I will be gone for a few days, not long enough and too long, if you get my drift. I will be worried about what I am not doing in the sewing room, but I won't want to leave all the inspiration..TeddyRN when do we ship and to where? Let me know, I have forgotten, but I have worked very hard on my winter blocks...I hope you all like them..God Bless

I was working on my last swap quilt last night! Never seems to be enough hours in the day!! I have had the quilt on the frame for several months and work for awhile and leave it! Need to get on with it so I can brag with show and tell for next weekend. I am so happy with the blocks from the last swap!

Just got off the phone from my Pfaff dealer and SAD news!! Embry is seriously dead! Bill is sending her to Tennessee on Monday because he can't fix her; praise God for warranty!! He refuses to let me have her because he said it is not working right and he doesn't feel comfortable sending a machine out of his shop like that! I have the BEST service person on the planet! Just sad that I won't have her to play with but I have more than enough other projects to play with!

Oh teddy how sad. Why do machines die? We miss them like people - alas.

I'm finishing off the last of the quilt swap blocks today. I've enjoyed doing these. They have been fun.

I'm making a table runner using the the same blocks and fabrics for a Christmas present.
