How does a quilt block swap work?
You make blocks per the guidelines. You make 2 blocks for every participant in the swap, for example if there are 20 people you make 40 blocks. Everyone mails their blocks to the hostess (hopefully by the deadline), hostess sorts, photographs and mails back to the participants.
Elizabeth was our champion last time and is the true expert.

Count me in!And the more, the merrier!
Deb, if you get a big response, you might want to swap single blocks instead of pairs? I think the idea of pairs really threw some people last time and maybe they stayed out because it sounded like it would be too hard? What do you think?

I'm excited about this one because I've been collecting Christmas theme fabrics for another guest room quilt. As usual, I'm obsessive about it and I have wayyyyyy more than I'd need for two (or maybe even THREE) quilts. This is going to be tons of fun!![]()

i unfortunately am not a quilter but i will ask my mom becasue she loves to quilt!
Deborah wasn't either, right Deb?And I hadn't ever done applique' before, so I was a newbie at that.
We had several people in the first swap who hadn't ever made quilt blocks, so if you would like to participate, don't let mere "newbieness" stop you.![]()

I wouldn't even know where to start!
Mary when I was in the same boat Elizabeth suggested a log cabin design. I made 5" center block with my embroidery design then strips around the sides. I JUST started this quilting thing in Mar 09

Mary-
A lot of us were new to quilting in the last swap. There are so many different place on the net to learn how to make a block. A place I've found tht has links to hundreds of quilting places is: www.thegoldenthinmble.com
It is just sewing - only in a different format. And after you piece the quilt togethr - you cn take to another place for them to machine or hand quilt it for you if you so desire. That makes it easier for you.
Count me in on this one too. I loved that last one. And I have decided not to be the last one to send my blocks in this time.
Elizabeth,
please count me in.
