My avatar is the logo of the softball team on which my husband and I played. We met playing softball and our life revolved around it for a number of years before we got too old to play. I collect all sorts of chicken stuff as a consequence--another addiction. LOL

windstar asked me this a couple of months ago, so here is the reply I gave her:
The very first thing I did when I eventually got a broadband internet connection (at the time we moved into our present house) was to go on ebay and purchase a modular hamster home for my daughters new pets - a pair of dwarf russian hamsters - I needed a log in name for ebay and paypal so that I could bid for it, and so I used the names of these two tiny creatures - little realizing at the time that it would stick with me long after they had fulfilled their short existence. I have used it in too many places now to change, and I can't think of anything else that fits me. (and I know that it will not already be used in places that need a user name - who in their right mind would choose it?)

I added a nickname I use of late (Mondeve) which is made of parts of my first name (Mon) my married last name (de) and my maiden name (ve)

LOL I hope that is not what you realy think Siobhan is In Irish, Siobhan is my name I took for confirmation, its my Mam's name in Irish and it's my friends name in Irish. Many names for it such as Susan, Susanne, Joan, Joanne, Johanna, but not kick butt

It's really meaning is 'God is Gracious'

My own name in Irish AnnMarie is Aine Maire. Aine is an ancient Irish name from the noun aine that means "splendor, radiance, brilliance." Aine is connected with fruitfulness and prosperity. My screen name is wienerin, which means a female person coming from or living in Wien (=Vienna).

Sometimes people twist the first two vowels and address me as weinerin, which I do have to object in the strongest possible terms

- I did not emerge from a bottle of "Wein" (=wine) !!

Those scrambled letters just produce sort of a "word game" which only German speaking people will realize and understand.

hey, no offence taken. It's fun somehow, sort of word game. There is even another meaning with the scrumbled vowels: "weinen" which means weep, cry. Sometimes that's true...
