evening all. Hope everyone is doing well with their holiday preperations. I am so used to being alone, I am exhausted from the baking and cleaning. My son's visit is going so fast. Hard to believe that in a little over 2 weeks he will be in Japan.
typing on my new laptop while laying in bed with the electric blanket. How cozy. please excuse the typos, not used to a laptop.
We are leaving for my sister's on Thursday, She has a big party on Christmas and then my son leaves either Christmas night or early the next morning.

A quick check in before I go to bed tonight. DD called this afternoon and said they will be coming tomorrow afternoon instead of Thursday evening. Aaaaahhhhh!!!!!! I have to be at school all day tomorrow, and I was planning on wrapping presents tomorrow evening then cleaning house on Thursday. Now what!!??? But I'm so excited to see those kids! It's terrible to only get to see them a few times a year.

Morning all from a very cold Ireland Snow yesterday really hit us hard again. The little country of ours is so not used to this harsh conditions.I am definately going to look into purchasing a 4x4 for the new year.

Phillipa...hows the building going, did he finish up last night what he had to do, or did you have to lock him in the house to finish ?
Brenda.. enjoy the party, it will be lovely having all your family together.

Phillipa, I hope your plumber finished on time (and did a good job). I, too, have a very lovely hubby who would do (and has done) the same thing for me. Aren't they great?
We set our alarm for 1:30 am to see the eclipse. It was beautiful. It was so cold here but the Lord blessed and out of all that sky the moon shown right over our skylight in the middle bathroom so we didn't have to be outside.
Jstitch, just enjoy the family. My MIL used to say "Never apologize for the condition of your house. Your friends don't need it and your enemies won't believe you anyway."
Brenda, glad you are having a good visit with your son. Enjoy him while you can.

Morning all...enjoying my coffee before the 2 grands get up. We got to 81* yesterday today we are to go up to the low 60's today. Yep I think Mother Nature let Father Nature try his hand at doing her job and this is what we have been getting. Have a great day Everybody.

Morning All...Coffee is good this morning but it is soo cold this morning at 34* and we'll only get into the 40's to 50's. I hope to play with Evangeline sometime today. Have a great day whatever you do with it.

It's ear;ly evening here, Day four without hot water to the new bathroom. Massive airlock in the hot water system, we are low pressure ut here, our tanks are gravity fed...waiting for a plumber to phone us back..good thing we have a separate hot water system for the downstairs cloak room, so we can strip wash using that hand basin...it wont kill us, but after spending all the money on the new bathroom, we can't use it..........well not for the moment. I have warned Brain, he does not start another project in the week leading up to long period...we are now left without hot water to the kitchen because of this airlock.

Morning, well afternoon all. Hope everyone is recovering nicely from their holidays. Phillipa, Hope that hot water gets there soon.
I am back home from my sister's. My son left the 26th for SC but had car troubles. He called last night to tell me all was well and they were back on the road. He doesn't think they will be hitting any of the bad weather. He heads for Hawaii on the 10th, then Japan and Korea and others. It will be another long 7 months of deployment. I think there will be a wedding within the next year or two for him.
Moving slow today, lots of laundry to do and then have to face the mess my house is in, put away Christmas. Then I have to prepare for heading back to my sister's for the new baby, I have to help with daycare and with my niece's other 3 children. She is scheduled for the 26th, but the doctor said she could deliver any day. Need some energy pills. I want to take my embroidery machine and new laptop with me and get back to sewing.

Good morning all, hope you are keeping warm in the northern hemisphere. We have had the best Christmas weather I can ever remember, pleasant temperature, only a sprinkle of rain, no floods at our place though I think we will get floods in January as the river is running very high. The rest of Australia hasn't been so lucky with floods in Qld, western NSW & Vic & hot dry conditions in WA.

Checking in very late tonight. Been crazy here with grandkids, and sister from Missouri here. Constant company for almost a week! Today I got to go out and do some 'me' shopping. Went to Michael's and got some yarn that I've wanted--it was 50% off. Got some fleece at Hobby Lobby for a project using the Edgery-Doo DH got me for Christmas. Then I went and got my mom and we did some cruise shopping. We're getting excited! Hope y'all are having a great day/night.

Morning all, havnt been on in a few days. I was so sick over Christmas that I couldnt do a thing. I had a bad stomach virus, vomiting etc. Ive never been that sick before. Better now but not a 100% and now Im back in work today, which I dont care to be

Oh and our snow is gone..back to rain now, which Im not complaining about

Annemarie, I glad to read you are over the stomach bug. Yiour weather is morroring ours. The snow has gone and now we have rain. It is warmer 2 degrees today.

So sorry you were sick over Christmas, Ann Marie. No fun!

We are just starting what is supposed to be a big winter storm. Rain right now, but supposed to turn to snow later on and leave us with 6-8" here and over a foot in the mountains. Our house is at the foothills, so we'll get something in between, I'm guessing.

Hope you are continuing to recover annmarie. Your white christmas sounded a bit extreme this year. I say every year that I would like to experience a White Christmas, we will one year. The weather here is warming up and many of the floods are receding. The Mosquito population thinks it's the best Christmas ever.

Good to see you are feeling a bit better AnnMarie. We have been getting rain off and on all day but we did get up to 58* today.

Pennykasteel...hope the waters continue to recede. I've been hearing about all the flooding.

Sorry you spent the holiday ill AnnMarie. Both my son and his girlfriend went through the flu while they were home, with me doing the clean up after. Somehow it missed me. It was warmer here today, but no where near 50. went into town mail my son the things he forgot to take back to SC and can't live without. LOL, He is worse than a girl about clothes.

Checking in earlier than usual today. Made a run to JoAnn's. No a lot of people there, in spite of the after Christmas sale. I think the weather had an impact. We got 4" of snow yesterday. I stayed holed up in my house yesterday, but did decide to venture out this morning. Roads not too bad, and got some great deals on some fleece!!
