Default jacket, hat, scarf for American Girl doll

Here is a jacket for my granddaughter's doll which is made from the same material we used for a jacket for her when she was a flower girl for our son's wedding 2 years ago. The material is beautiful, but it slipped and was not easy to work with.

The crocheted hat should only be viewed by those who truly crochet from a distance of about 100 feet! I make no claims to fame, based on that hat!!! In fact, the hat is about the same skill level as my very beautiful artwork on the paper doll's face! ha ha The scarf is knit. Quite a warm combination for a doll who lives in California, right?

I love the jacket you made for your granddaughter's doll! The hat looks lovely from the picture, I see no mistake in it! I admire crochet, my Grandma and Mom were and are avid crocheter's. I cannot however, but I sew. And the knit scarf is equally lovely. I always wanted to knit and tried learning several times but could never do it! I say great job on your project. If there are a few flaws, I do not think anyone would know unless you tell them! Thank you so much for sharing! Great job, kt3234 Karen

I thank you for your kind comments. I know an older lady who crochets beautifully and I am hoping to hire her to make a few outfits, too. I do NOT plan to let her see my first attempt, though.

My mom was a superb knitter and quite good at crocheting. My paternal aunt was fantastic at crocheting, but the best crocheter was my paternal grandmother. She came from Sweden was the best crocheter in our family. She learned when she was 4 years old and kept crocheting until she passed at 94 years old! We have beautiful bedspreads, table cloths and doilies from her. She was so good at crocheting that she could crochet and read the Bible at the same time!

You are very welcome. You deserve my kind comments. My grandma was very good at crochet. We were fortunate enough to all receive a beautiful tablecloth from her before she too passed on. She lived to 100 and crocheted right up until she passed. Thank you for sharing your story with me. And I do hope to see more pictures of your beautiful work soon! Thanks again, kt3234 Karen

Adorable clothes!, don't laugh but my kids got me Molly the American girl doll a few years ago. She is my generation, I always love seeing things made for these great dolls. I haven't attempted any clothing for her yet but it is on my list!

You won't catch me laughing! A few years before my mother passed on, she bought me a "show" doll, too. Although she is already dressed to perfection and needs nothing from me, the doll is now one of my favorite gifts from my mom.

That is a beautiful little set! She will love them and the doll will be well dressed for any cold weather that might arrive unannounced LOL I like to crochet too, they look perfectly fine!! Keep up the good work!
