Thank you for sharing all those lovely sounding recipes.
Here is one of my favourites - a simple Lemon Sorbet (I only ever try to 'do' simple recipes).
Lemon Sorbet
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
zest from one lemon
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (from approximately 3 lemons)
Mint sprigs, garnish
In a small saucepan bring to boil the sugar and water whisking to dissolve the sugar. Remove from heat, add the lemon zest (reserve a small amount for garnish) and lemon juice, cover and freeze.
Puree in a food processor until smooth and freeze again.
When ready to serve make 1 to 3 small round sorbet balls with a melon baller. Serve in a stemmed glass or small serving dish as a refreshing palate cleanser before the main course. Garnish with lemon zest, mint sprigs and serve.
Now that the weather is warming up, I'm looking forward to trying some of the sherbet recipies. Thanks for the yummies. Dreama
This is the recipe my mom taught me to make home made ice cream from. We used fresh milk from the cow and raw eggs. Most folks don't like that - so you can cook the mixture before putting into the ice cream maker to cook the eggs. Since you no longer no about the eggs you get - it's a good thing to cook it. It also makes it more like a custard when you do.
Home made Ice cream
6 eggs
two cups of sugar
4 tablespoons vanilla ( or whatever flavoring you like)
2 cups cream
Mix well and cook if you so desire. Heat until the sugar melts and it is just ready to boil
Pour mixture into the ice cream freezer. Pour in whole milk until it reaches the fill line. Place in freezer and and your ice and salt and keep turning till hard.
You can add fresh fruit into the mix or add on top later.
A good friend of mine down in Alabama is making some today for his family's get together. I asked him to eat a bowl for me since I would not be there to get any.
Enjoy ladies!
Oh yummy! this is dangerous!
The homemade ice cream recipe sounds great. I must try this one! Cathy

The ice cream is best on a hot July and August afternoon! Ain't nothing like it then- that's for sure!
Tomorrow I will get selfmade icecream strawberry and nutella icecream, it will be make with liquid nitrogen!![]()
Wow.
These are great. We have an ice cream maker but I never used it because all the recipes called for raw eggs (yuk).
Will have to put these in a Word document and print up for something new.
