Default God is busy opening windows!!

This month started out weird and has gone sideways from there!

      1. Hubby was laid off permanently but...given a package that included 2 weeks pay for every year worked: 18 weeks pay.
      2. two deaths in the family but... got to spend his birthday with his family in Georgia (he was 60 on 4/2)
      3. my car was broken into last night at work, the drivers side window shattered but... the insurance company is replacing my navigation system with the latest model (the other one was not two years old yet!)

I have to find a rainbow in all of this or go totally nuts! We can pay off several litle bills, hubby is staying home and playing Mr. Mom, the socks are finally sorted, things are finally getting done around the house and the kids don't have to go to a sitter every Tuesday night while we are both at work. The girls are loving having daddy home all of the time too!

Well teddy_m, I'm glad the socks are finally sorted! LOL
That is quite a pile of 'stuff' you've had on your plate, it's a good job you are an optimist.
I hope it will all prove to be a 'blessing in disguise', giving your husband more time with your girls is definitely one of them - they will learn a lot from the 'odd jobs' being done about the house (and how to sort socks!)
I hate the callous attitude of your car burglar - it must have been horrible to find the broken window when you went to go home.

The worst part of the car window being broken is that it is sooooo cold! Was warm until last night! But I had my heavy Nebraska coat in the car and it was not stolen; guess it would stick out like a sore thumb to have a bright red jacket with NEBRASKA across the back in North Carolina

Keep warm. I hope you've had the window replaced.

I know it seems things are bad but if you read this part of your passage I think you will find that you did find your rainbow in all the plus' of your hubby being home. Sometimes when you take time to step back and breathe you can see a clearer picture instead of the instant panic you feel when things first happen. As you know God never put more on us than we can handle. Take Care.

I'm sorry to hear that your hubby lost his job. It is happening to so many. My sis lost hers last May and finally went back to work around Thanksgiving. So I know about it first hand. I've lost a few myself ion my time and I know hard it is.

I wish you both lick and hope he finds a new one soon.

      Deborah,
Hate to hear of your misfortunes. But your attitude makes me smile. I need to look for those silver linings more often. My mom used to say, "They told me to smile--things could be worse. So, I smiled, and sure enough, they got worse." LOL Here's hoping that's not your case and that things will be brighter at the end of the month than the beginning.

Thanks for sharing your positive attitude. I needed to hear that.

I'm so glad to hear that you noticed that God is busy opening windows. It's true that when a door shuts, a window opens. I like the way you outlined those opened windows and especially the part where your husband gets to spend time with the kids and that's so good. You have fallen prey to many obstacles recently but have been able to see the brighter side. Another way of saying this is 'When life hands you a lemon, just make lemonade'. Keep up your optimism and before you know it, things will get a lot better.

I'm sorry you have to go through all this. I agree with what has been said already: when you're able to see the bright side of things you can cope with things better. And it's so true: a window opens when something else is shut. Hope things will get better soon.

Teddy M keep looking up to the cloud because it will get better, even already you see the change in your girls and they are the main thing after all. Myself and my b/f are trying to stay optimistic with him been laid off also. Your husband is lucky to get that extra bit of pay. Brian had no choice but to leave as he got not wages in over a month-construction trade is gone bust here totally!
Keep the head up like us all.....

My nephew was laid off for 4 months and he just got a call from his work place and they want him back. It is awful to have that not knowing what will be next.

I am so happy for those of you who have found your sunshine through the open window. I am still praying for those of you who are still waiting for your window to open.
