      Default 50's Zipper Bags

Hello! I am totally new to embroidery and have very little experience sewing. Perhaps I should give it up, but I have purchased the 50's zipper bags set, and while I see the zipper placement, I have no idea how to even begin to make a zipper bag. Are there any instructions for making the bags?

Sorry if this is a remedial question, but I am really baffled. I learn quickly, so if anyone has any ideas, please HELP!

      TIA,

      Melva

Oh, don't even consider giving up! You would be missing out on such a fun hobby if you did.

There are instructions available on how to make the majority of items sold on the DesignsBySick site: http://articles.designsbysick.com/ca...s/?submit=view Those specifically for the zipper bags are here: http://articles.designsbysick.com/in...-bags/#more-18 It says that the instructions are for the Animal bags, but the process is the same, no matter which of the zippered bags you are making. If you have any further questions after you have read/downloaded the instructions, feel free to ask, ok?

Thanks so much! I'll give it a try and let you know how I fare. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

I notice you have Liam and a set of twins. You, my dear, are a brave and busy woman! Congratulations!

If you go to the designs by sick yahoo group you will find a zip with the zipper file and instructions files. You will need to join the yahoo group if you are not a member.

      http://www.designsbysick.com/article...zippered-bags/

Here's your link for the instructions.

You will stitch the front of the coin purse and set aside. Next follow the link above to do the zipper part. Then you will lay the front right side down to the right side of zipper, and let it stitch out completely... make sure your zipper is open because this is how you are going to turn your purse inside out...trim and clip where needed before you turn.

Thank you everyone who took interest in my question. I made the poodle bag this afternoon and it turned out great. My idea was to give it to my friend with a gift card in it for her 50th anniversary. She is doing the whoe 50's thing. She even made poodle skirts for ther daughters and grand daughter. Can't wait to hear that 50's music again.

      Hello,
I want to make some zippered bags to .
I have the hole sets (animals and girlies), with the file for the zipper. But the file for the frontside includes the lines for the zipper too . I watched the thread sequence with artista, the zipper will be stitched after the motive .
Should I ignore the second zizpper lines?

      Best regards,
      Miri

Miri....Hoop your stabilizer first. the machine will stitch the placement lines on the stabilizer for your zipper. Stitch your zipper then place your fabric on both sides of the zipper. Remove from hoop and set aside. Then you will stitch the front of the bag design then you will lay the zipper part over the top with right sides together and this will put both front and back together. Make sure you do not zip the zipper closed before you put the front and back together because you will need to turn the bag inside out after you clip your turning points and you're done.
