It's good to hear that you're back home and doing well.
I'm sorry that there's more pain than you expected. I hope that you're allowing your family to give you some pampering treatment.![]()
The good news is I'm back from my knee surgery. The bad news is that no one prepared me for how much the post op hurts nor how much swelling there is!
The silver lining is how helpful my husband and children have been and all the good wishes that came and are still coming my way.
Just though I'd let everyone know my "news".

Welcome back. Don't try to do to much to soon. Just take it easy and get well.
Drugs, ask for your drugs! Be sure to follow your Dr. & PT orders. Hopefully you will be back on your feet very soon. Take care.

Welcome back wissewer
Sorry to hear of all the after pain. My Aunt in Michigan had both her knees done on Dec. 8 and she was talking about all the pain and she has had to have a second surgery cause she couldn't bend one of her knees too well, so they put her to sleep to try to bend it for her to see what is going on and after wards she still isn't doing so well. I hope all goes well you and good to see you back.

I like laCole's response....Follow it to the letter so you'll be able to get up and do what you really want to do sooner.Be smart .relax and soak up the attention and get well.
I wish you all the best. I hope your recovery will be swift. Best wishes....

I wish you a speedy recovery! Good to have you back.
Thanks to all. Today was better than yesterday and I'm told that from Day 5 and out, MOST days are an improvement. Tomorrow, home PT begins. My husband and family have been waiting on me hand and foot -- literally! Now, I am on to bed and more sleep. Never thought I could sleep this much, but seems as though I can!![]()
Sleep is good for recovery. PT will be tough, especially the first day.
Do take it nice a slow - post op pain is not easy is it? I am so glad you have wonderful support from your husband and family - hope we hear that you are feeling so much better very shortly. In the meant time - I reckon sleep sounds pretty good!
Glad you're recovering, you are just in time to join in some more 'fun and games' (just as soon as Shawn wakes up and let's us know what he has in store for us).
If you make yourself comfy with your feet way up, and get your family to bring you regular nourishment, you may just have a head start on some of the rest of us. LOL (I keep getting my computer time interrupted by ' the real world' and I don't like it!)
(Your thread title worries me slightly - NO jiggety jogging for a while at least - baby steps is what you need - knees take time to recover from any 'interference'.)
Wishing you a speedy recovery
You'll be better before you know it. My mum had complete knee replacement on Dec 8th. She too was thinking it would feel better after the surgery (after close to a year of pain) and was a bit disappointed. But she followed all the Drs and PT peoples orders (she had 3 weeks in a nursing home) to the letter. Now she is jiggerty joggertying around. She did sleep lots too. For the swelling they had her ice with some funny jug of ice hooked to what looked like an old water bottle that wrapped around her knee. That helped her more than the drugs. Nothing really touches nerve pain.
I've had four back surgeries, mom never really understood pain until her knee went -- now after the surgery she really gets how it slows ya down.
P.T. will be hard, make sure you have ice packs ready to put on right afterward. I hope you heal as fast as my mum.

If my daughter is a princess, that must mean I am Queen.
Had a visit from the best home health care PT. Among other advice, she encouraged me to take ALL the medications. She said that too many patients are worried about becoming addicted, but that the doctor prescribes the pain pills for a reason and that the hospital was wrong to try to keep me under-medicated. Wow! So, am now taking the full regimen and feel better plus better able to do PT on rehab-ing the knee. Thanks for all the good wishes and advice from my sewing "buddies".![]()
