I like the idea, myself! There is some very nice digitizing done here at SiCK, kudos to all the digitizers, by the way. Have you seen the finger puppets at SewingforSarah? I don't have any of her designs, but they look very nice.

how about some finger puppets. easy to make. i have made them using felt and just float a piece of fabric under the hoop before stitching the outline, just make sure you have an opening at the bottom. there are a few of these designs at annthegran but i think you guys digitize better with more quality. thanx

Have you been peeking at my working files?I am currently working on an Old MacDonald set that will be finger puppets. I am planning a farmer, his wife, a horse, a cow, a sheep, a pig, a chicken, a cat, a dog, and a mouse to make it a set of 10 designs. If you think that these are good animal choices, or if you would prefer to see different animals than I picked, please feel free to respond here. I am not the world's greatest artist
, but I am doing my own art to work from.
Then again, I did the art for the Girly Skulls set, and nobody seems to be complaining about those.![]()
E I E I Ohhhhhhhh

Old MacDonald is a wonderful idea! Kids could invent games with all those animals & stuff! Did you have a donkey in there somewhere? I know, you're a mom, it might be like giving a kid a drum set, but you know how kids love to make the noise of the animal, and HeeHaw for the donkey is a winner for kids to do.
Good luck on that artwork, Cutiepie, you're braver than I am. I'm going to use Zombie bunny for easter, hee hee hee.
Luv ya, Marji
what a great ides. I can hear them singing Ol' Mcdonald now.
How about story book characters too. Like 3 little pigs, gingerbread boy, etc.
...you are the Evil Green Bunny's mom!
I kinda thought it might be you lol!
I'm looking forward to the new puppet critters. It would be a fun set to do... Besides it would give me something to play with while my kids are at school ... :P Heavens knows I am just sitting around the house all day (so they think.)
This song is near and dear to my heart, not just because I sang it with my kids a zillion times when they were little but this is the song I jokingly sang as my husband drove me to the maternity ward on the birth day of all 3 kids. I don't know what got me started the first time, I was just trying to find something to distract him from the situation at hand I guess. While we driving the song just sort of 'burst out'. (He was looking rather stressed to say the least.) Then the second time on the way to the maternity ward I was just trying to be funny. Then while on our way to the hospital for the 3rd baby he actually asked me if I was gonna sing it to him...
The only kind of person who would complain about your artwork would be someone envious of your abilities. Art is an expression of the heart and soul... no one has the right to judge that imo.

p.s. I was gonna suggest a fox for the set...but then again what sound would he make???

Silver, I am really, really, laughing out loud

Isn't it funny, the songs that pop into our heads at the darndest times? What a song to sing speeding to the maternity ward! Or did you just feel like you were "having a cow" as the kids say.
I was on my way to the vet with all 7 cats for shots, one time. They were all 'cat-erwauling' and climbing all over, and I thought 'music soothes the savage beast' so I burst out into a rendition of my Mom's favorite song "I'll Be With You In Apple Blossom Time". Now, thing is, I sing like a frog. And the cats didn't stop their singing, either. I was just so glad a state cop didn't stop me, the whole thing would have been rather hard to explain. By the way, after that episode, the vet decided to make house calls to me. He heard me singing out in his driveway.![]()
Marji
you guys are great. i sure needed a laugh. thanks.
i have 3 kids too. when they were small "where is thumpkin?" was the song of choice.
And sorry, no evil green bunnies just boys....yes all three of um.
Yes, yes, I freely admit to being "mom" to the green zombie bunny. Maybe he was the Easter Bunny one year, and ate too much chocolate? I know that's about how I feel when I have over-eaten.
Well, I've got to get the Old MacDonald set finished first, but now that I think about it, I may well do another set of fairy tale characters. There could be the three pigs and their big, bad wolf, Red Riding Hood and her bad wolf, Gingerbread man and the fox that finally ate him, Jack and the Giant, and that's just off the top of my head. This could be FUN! Feel free to put out more suggestions of what you would like to see, ok?![]()
SMG29, I too wil have three boys (all under 3!) once my twins arrive. How did you survive it? Some days, I don't think I will!! Good thing I love my one son so much, or I might (as my mom occasionally threatened to do) just sell him to the circus. It would be up to them to decide if he is meant to be a clown or a monkey.![]()
I cannot even imagine having twin newborns Cutiepie. My kids were 17 months apart so by the time I had three there was just about 3 years difference between them all. That was close enough.... Man I was swimming in their poopy Pampers all day long!
I did have my girl in the middle... I am not sure if that helped the situation out or made it worse tho. She now has a brother that is suppose to look after her and she also has one she can pick on. Trouble is the older one is the one she picks on and the younger one is the one that looks after her lol. I just didn't want the brothers competing against each other so much but despite the slight age gap they still do. I thought having a daughter in between would help diffuse all that testosterone... but no luck. I just remember when we got started that I did not want just one kid, my hubby and his dad were both only kids and they hated it. I grew up in a family of 7 so I didn't want that for them either. When we had my oldest son and my daughter it was almost perfect BUT...I was thinking maybe just one more... Realizing that I was fast approaching 35 I figured I better do it or forget it. All went well with the pregnancy but he was born with some major issues. They initially told us he would not survive and that we should just leave him to die at the hospital. I refused and sat in an awful waiting room chair for several days so I could hold my new baby boy. I knew so long as he was in my arms I could keep him alive. They found a way to send me home with the monitors and oxygen and tubes and all and I literally held that baby in my arms all day and all night for 6 weeks. By the time we got him to Northwestern University Medical Hospital at 6 weeks of age they said he was one of the healthiest babies they had ever seen! We decided after that we would stick with the kids we had rather than run the risk of another near catastrophe. I am glad we did because some days...no... on many days I feel that there is not just enough of me as a mom to go around. We are a happy loving family and even tho I contemplate the many potential (non harmful of course) uses of duct tape on naughty kids, like taping two arguing boys to one chair, I have never really lost my temper and sent one packing to the circus....Well... not YET! lol
Cool Idea CutiePie!!! Lotsa stories! Lotsa Puppets! If you need any help drawing them out let me know and maybe I can help you. I have all sorts of potential designs drawn up, I just lack proper digitizing skills to bring them to fruition.
Take Care!

Silver, thanks for sharing your story! It is very uplifting. Bless you and your kiddos!
Cutiepie, your ideas are absolutlely wonderful! The grandkids just love the story of the Three Pigs and also the Gingerbreadman.
Don't worry about the twin babies, I'm sure you'll do fine! It is not as hard as you think - except when they are both crying and you can't get them to sleep. During the first few weeks old - double swaddle them! Swaddle one baby, then the other. Then take a larger receiving blanket and swaddle the two together. You can then easily hold them together and they feel like they are back in the womb. Even if one falls asleep while the other is screaming, it's ok. The quiet one will be used to the noise and it won't bother him. That's the best twin advice I've ever given and it usually works! When they get to walking, I actually think it is easier than 1 baby because they are entertaining each other by then.
I'm really looking forward to those finger puppets! Thank you for such a great idea!
The puppets sound great! Thanks.
Finger puppets are great gifts for children and also hand puppets........hint...hint......would love to see some of those too.![]()
I finally got the Old McDonald finger puppets. Thank you, Cutiepie for finishing these. I think the grandkids will have lots of fun with them.
I hope you are working on some more sets! Just think of how much the boys will enjoy them also!
Right after I clicked, I was thinking of boys and puppets - what about dinosaurs and monsters??? I already have some plastic dinosaur and monster fingerpuppets. My grandsons just love them.
another finger puppet idea is a frog.
My daughter teaches pre school and one of the songs is 10 little frogs went swimming ond day.
also a duck
Finger puppets are so fun to make and children love them. I would like some nursery rhyme finger puppets.
I would also like some new pencil topper designs.
Yes, those would also be good finger puppets, nursery rhymes.
I just bought the snowman and farm ones.
The pencil toppers is a good idea.
Elaine
yes, more pencil toppers please!we use them for smiles for children, so I know they would be popular!
