I've got fabric stacks and cyber stacks - several lifetime's worth of designs, just don't ask me to stop yet!
Ever sense the word "Hoarding" came into our vocabulary, I have been thankful that these designs are not all stacked up on my floor and chairs! My brother was a true hoarder and we fussed about it, me not understanding the drive he had. Now I can the same drive in me
I've got fabric stacks and cyber stacks - several lifetime's worth of designs, just don't ask me to stop yet!
I also collect all the free designs I can find. I love the various designs and hope one day to be able to sew them all out. Most likely not. I have too many and not enought time, but I still keep on collecting.
I have spent many happy hours downloading free designs. Now I have come to sew them out.....I have the problem of getting all the software updated and compatible with my windows 7 on my laptop......I hope to find a solution in the next 2 days, then I will have a pile of sewn out patterns too!!
Did anyone ever answer the lady who asked about free downloads??? If you join any of the embroidery design sites yahoo groups you will get a lot of free downloads (free designs).
About DOWNLOADS,i love to colect, the Trouble is :do i have Time to use them, will i live long enough? But for the timebeing i just enjoy the Chase.
You are not alone!!! I have so many that I need to get a external memory thingy. That's just tooo many, but like you I can't help it....
You can never have too many designs. But Imust admit I need to spend less time collecting and chatting and more sewing.
But, what to do with all the downloaded designs, having over 3000, in my life time, I may never get them all stiched out......
I am totally addicted to collecting designs. I have over 12,000. I have been trying to organize them and it is taking me over a week now and still collecting freebies as I go. lol...
I am sorry that the point system is going away but I understand.
Life is too short even on the longest days.
Hi, thanks for the post. I am able to find and download free designs but not anything with a file format other than PES or ART. I've been told to "save" the design and extract ....but those options are not always enabled. So, in lieu of that, I'd like to join a Yahoo group, but I can't seem to find any place on the the site that gives instructions on how to do that. Maybe I'm just too "dim".

If you go to any embroidery site such as Julias Needle Works, or ABC Embroidery, or Skedalehouse.com , there should be a box saying click here to go to the yahoo group. Once there, Diane, you have to fill out the form to join the group. Once a member, there is a section on the left side that list areas of the site. If you click on
files...it will be full of free designs. (downloads) Hope this is helpful.
I don't post much on the boards. More of a lurker, but I do read what everyone writes. I want to chime in on this post and help all design "hoarders" to feel better. I sew and embroider on what I sew most days, all day. I sew for others, my grandchildren, customers, you name it. I get requests for the weirdest things that I never thought I would use. Example: Do you have a penquin in a bikini, on a blanket on the beach....Me, "hold on let me see...Yep I got one" Ok do you have a design of a tractor with big eyes...Hmmm "yep I do." I get the job ..So don't feel bad hoarding and gathering. Different strokes for different folks. I am not even surprised anymore when something strange is asked for. I find it or digitize it myself..No problem. And by the way, I have a 250 gig external hard drive with thousands of designs "stashed" on it.

Welcome to the forums birdiful - lurking is quite acceptable here!
I agree with you whole-heartedly about 'different strokes for different folks', and collect a great many designs that don't particularly appeal to me, for just this reason!
A great many of them will remain un-stitched, but it is nice to have the options to look through to find 'the one' that fits the bill!![]()

I feel better already!!! Nice 2 know there are other 'collectors' out there. I do have all mine filed and organized like a file cabinet when I was a secretary. Most frustrating thing? Having ten's of thousand's of designs and NOT the one I want at the time!!!
I too have thousands of designs. I love SICK designs, this website is the best......lol. I call it embroidery "porn" cause I am always searching and buying or downloading new stuff, just cannot get enough.........lol

How to find FREE hourly designHow do I find the FREE Hint for the hourly design??
Have you downloaded the tool bar? IF so go to "Free Designs" Click on "Free Hourly Hunt" It will take you to the page if not you can click on the following link and to make it easier to fin it in the future bookmark it or put it in your favorites. (http://www.designsbysick.com/hourlyhunt) scoll down below the design and you will find a blue line that says "Need a Hint to Find it" That will take you to the chat site where you could find a hint. The chat site it also used for visiting so you may have to ask them for a hint.
If you do not have the tool bar you can click on "Free" on the top line and it will have a drop down to click on "Free Hourly Hunt" HOpe this helps.
