When I download a free design I print it off and it goes in a binder. So when I go to do a project I go in the binder.
Love the christmas tag freebies!
Life is too short even on the longest days.

Welcome Scoutmom. You will find whatever you need here. Just ask the question. no matter how silly it may seem there is always someone here that will be able to give the answer or to point you in the right direction. So get ready for the time of your life when your new machine arrives. You will soon begin to understand what a fascinating affliction this embroidery affair is. Neglect my children, the laundry, who has time to cook and clean. If you can't get it done from your seat at the computer or the embroidery machine.......well...it just ain't all that important. You'll see . Welcome and have fun. It is the most fun any addict EVER had.
I agree wit boltonia 51, you will never be the same after getting hooked on embroidery!! Welcome Scoutmom!
Hi Scoutmom, you will soon have more designs than you can use in a lifetime!
"Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly"
TRUE!!! I ty telling myself that I have enough, but I KEEP looking!! I always find something new that I NEED! I just can't live without it. LOL! I simply must have that design, yes, it happens all the time. It makes life interesting.
I'm another addict - have to check in every 1/2 hour, but the last few days have seen the site change and I can no longer see a menu on the left side, so I have to search for the daily and hourly freebies. Is the site going back to normal soon? Shirl
Hi Shirl, there is a new bar at the top of the page with all the options to click - it took a few of us by surprise, but it actually makes things much easier.
Someone did report that they couldn't get the links to work, but it was probably a browser problem. (she was advised to try using Firefox.)
merry xmas to all of you from redhead and happy new years
Yes a Happy Christmas to all but please remember the reason for the season.

Well Scoutmom and KitKat50 there is a thread in one of these forums that lists sites people find. They list them for everyone to view and look at the sites. I found it. Go to Embroidery Designs Freebie here at Sick there are many sites listed. I just recently found a few and I'm making a list that will be posted soon in that thread. You do have to be careful though, because some people are new to digitizing and the pics look great because they scan the picture not the design stitched out. So you can't tell if it will stitch out good or not.
At first you will find you will take any freebie you can get. Then after a few thousand you decide to get a little more picky as to what you collect. You start to think where can I use that design. My advise is if you are not really in love with the design and you don't know where you could use it don't save it. I have only been at this for a year and I have over 17,000 designs. I'm starting to think my hobby is obtaining designs instead of sewing them on something. HaHa Also if you save a design print a picture of it to put in binders so you can look through them to find what you want. If you don't and you have 7 or 8 disks full of designs you will not know what you have or where it is. Once I print the pic I date it so I know what disc it's on as I label my discs. Also when you save it save it as something you will recognize and label the pic the same name. Most sites have numbers for their designs. If you save it as a number when you go back to use it you won't know where to find it, unless your title is the same as what is on the pic you took of the design. It becomes and addiction. LOL
One site I've found is Sew Forum. www.sewforum.com I love the site, they have some wonderful designs, but they also have some newbees. You will be able to tell. They have 184 pages of forum threads with 30 threads to a page. I'm only half way through and I've been working on it daily for about a week now. Most sites you get will require you to join to get free designs some don't. Some require you to buy a design to get a freebie, most don't. The people in Sew Forum also give other sites for you to obtain designs. I think between our forum at Sick (Embroidery Designs Freebie) and Sew Forum you will be able to obtain thousands of free designs very fast. I will devise a list and bring a copy back to Sick for everyone to use.
Hope this helps.

Merry Christmas to all my fellow embroidery addicts!
My addiction is so bad, there's some designs I purchase because I think they are so cute, but don't get around to sewing them out and maybe six months later I find the designs again and repurchase them!!! Now that is sick! I'm so glad alot of the sites are now keeping a record of what you buy and let you know.....then all you have to do is fish thru all your thousand plus designs and try to find it!! LOL!
