No need to be so rude. To follow that line of thinking than all redwork designs would have the word redwork or at least red or rw in the title, however the latest set "Hockey" has 20 designs and 1/2 of them are redwork yet it's not in the title. Just as are several other sets throughout DBS.

Thanny51, I am sorry that you found Wienerin's response to be rude. Please understand that she is not a native English-speaker/writer, so things may not always translate as intended. This is actually true of all communication on the computer, since you can't see facial expressions or hear tones of voice.

I know for a certainty that Wienerin did not intend to be rude at all. She is very kind and does her best to help out anyone she can.

While it is true that not all of the designs here on Designs by SiCK are labled completely accurately (as you noted, not all redwork designs are so noted in their titles), a concerted effort has been made by the digitizers and the support staff to assure that anything that is FSL is labled as such. So, if it doesn't say that it is FSL, you would be safe to assume that it is not.

I too am sorry that you wasted your expensive metallic thread. That is very discouraging indeed. However, if you aren't completely ready to give up on those designs, you can stitch them on sheer fabric (like organza) and then trim the fabric close to the stitching to give a similar appearance to FSL. Good luck, and I hope that you will share some of your successful projects with the rest of us.

Have you thought about re-cycling the 'wasted' thread by snipping it up and making thread ornaments (use a propper FSL design and scatter the threads on it part way through the stitchout - maybe cover with watersoluble stabilizer if needed, and then continue to the end.) this can produce some very nice ornaments and angels!

What a great suggestion, Motoandnutty. I have been trying to think of a way to decorate some of the plain round nothing ornaments. I'm going to give that a try. I've got so many ideas going through my mind right now my head is going to explode. Thanks for the idea.

Thank you, thank you for the warning. We all need to care for and protect each other. Are there other known sites to stay away from?

Then I would change my email address, or get a yahoo or other online account when dealing with these places, just in case.

This explains a lot. I am too free with my e-mail address and have thousands of e-mails to dump all the time. I was wondering where they all were coming from, as I feel safe just going to a few design sites.

Cutiepie, Would there be a place to post this warning so that the newcomers would find it better? I just sumbled upon it because I have a (slightly) dumb request and was looking here to post it. This is a valuable piece of information that I wish I had read before I had sent that site my e-mail address.
