how do know if you get any points for categories and where does it show up i have been doing some and i still don't think i got any points i look at he results and my name is there so does that i have been accepted thanks

You won't know until Shawn(Sick) does whatever he does with the categorizing results and he will then decide what points are given. When U categorize a design it will tell you this info when it tell you thanks.

I do some categorizing when time allows, I don't think of the points for it but they said it would help Shawn out to get it done, so I figure if he doesn't have to do this it will leave him some time to deal with other things of keeping the site and forum running smoothly.

I found another good reason to categorize! The free hunt! I took one look at the design - one I had categorized last night - and knew exactly where to find it. YaHoo!

On the Sick site, find a design and click on "vote for a design". Under each design, it will let you click on "catgorize this design".
When you go to categorize, you will need to click on at least one box in each category. You will not get your points until at least 5 folks have categorized it and then, only if what you submitted, matches theirs.

I was looking at birdhouse designs and was wondering,...it isn't an animal, but would you click the "bird" box? It is the only thing that would refer to it as belonging to a bird. A tag would be "animal" but if I was searching for birdhouses, I'd look for bird.

Even though a birdhouse isn't a bird, it probably is the first thing that comes to mind if you were searching for a design of a birdhouse. So I would use the tag bird in categorizing birdhouse.

Sorry, I've been off doing other DesignsBySiCK.com business things. I looked at the voting for submitted category results, they aren't all that great.

Seriously, 3 people voted yes to a clown design belonging to the BUG category.

So, I'm going back to plan B (voting was plan C). There will be 10 people allowed to categorize a single design. The most common will be accepted. Anyone who submitted the entries that used the most common categories will be awarded points.

So... GAME ON... start categorizing for real! The points awarding will start happening in the next days.

Hi Sick, I'm sorry, I do not understand your game "categorizing the designs" ??? where do I find the rule ? Of course, I'm interesting in earning more points !

Hi, is anyone else getting this message, if so, does anyone know what that means? "SELECT COUNT( * ) AS count FROM votes WHERE setname LIKE 'oldmacdonald' and designname LIKE 'lamb' and username LIKE 'lmtaylor6'That user was not involved in categorizing this set, please try another" This prompt comes up on every single one...regardless of which set
