You are right in that there could be a few more catagories, but I just keep plugging away
I just imagine what I think the catagory should be i.e. the automobile - RW. I would put that into the transportation category then sub catagory of Cars then further RedWork. I try to avoid putting in a second main category of antiques. I have a lot of folders with many 1st level categories. This is what works for me.

I know that we are multi-national, but I think that because Designs by Sick are American I shall be using American terms when there is a possibility of misunderstanding. eg:anything Autumnal, and dealing with the season when deciduous leaves are dropped from the trees,to me will be Fall
Just my opinion.
We just have to work with what we have. If there isn't the "perfect" category for a design, do what is closest. I tag designs with words that I would use if I was searching for it.
I have categorized so much in the past couple days, that I am now dreaming about categorizing. I dreamed that I tagged the clothes in my closet, all the papers in my classroom, items in my kitchen, and all the books on my shelves. I woke up before I tagged my students. It was more of a nightmare than a dream really.
I agree,,,easier for me too
I love that we can let you know how we look for a design. Thanks for the chance to categorize. I have done a few and hope that there are some left to do a few more.
Sounds like a big endevour! Do you want everyone to vote for the categories??
I have noticed that some sets have the notation that 10 people have already catagorized and it is not available to me to do such. Sounds like lots of people are now getting into the action, yah!!
SICK being an American company is a good point. I may be overthinking this because my daughter is married to an Aussie so holidays with reversed seasons occasionally comes into the conversation. But listing a Christmas design as both winter and summer could also be confusing.
I used to have all my designs in each category on 3 1/2" in floppes but then my kids told me to move into the 21st century and dump the floppies. Now, I have one huge file, on a 8 gig flash drive and all the categories are listed in separate files. I usually save a design on my computer and delete the extra formats and save the one I need on the flash drive in the correct category. Sometimes it gets saved in 2 categories, like a bear holding a heart would go in the "heart/love" and also the "bear" category.

I like it the way it is..change...just confuses me.
That made it SO EASY to figure out how to do this. THANKS! I have done a few and will see if I win any points for it. These things are so fun. I posted earlier but the post didn't go through so not sure if I am doing this posting correctly. I am sure I will figure it out sooner or later--LOL! Have a nice day! Have fun categorizing! This was a fun thing to add to my day today as it is my birthday.
Would love to have some people click on my link as a birthday present ... Thanks in advance ...

SiCK,
Looking at the categories offered to choose from, I don't see 'bags', 'bowls', 'boxes', 'zippered', etc., so does that mean those categories will be missing in the future? I guess they could be deleted, if the category 'project' is an option.
As every site has different categories and individual people have different categories we are going to be overloaded with so many choices - lets keep it as simple as possible - if that is even possible
I have posted that question to SiCK also, let us know the answer if you see it first ok.
do not make your clicks impossible for someone else.
An example would be:
RW Sunbonnets
- click RW
- not a season, unless it says "winter SB".
- not a holiday
- not an animal
- click sun bonnets
that's it.
keep it simple try not to over guess yourself. Too many clicks in one category confuses the next one. Hope this helps someone.
Post 53 helped me to understand what the categories thing is all about. Thanks
I agree with rainagade. Keeping it simple makes this process more accurate.
I always ask myself if I needed to find a design where are the first five places I'd look. Beyond that, it becomes a guessing game.
I don't understand this either. I've looked at most of the posts for answers without turning up anything. I'm assuming if I am one of the 10 categorizers, that I need to vote after a design has closed for categorization. But when I've tried, I get the same message as above.
