Wow, those sewing blocks designs are popular. One won on the 16th and there are three other wishes from the same set in the top four of the wishlist! It's going to take us quite a while to get through those.

Hi mtn-hi,

I don't want to sound critical, and I have no problem with it if cutiepie moves you back to the top of the list, but I don't understand how you can lose your place. This is not directed at you as there are others who have been complaining.

It seems to me if a person is a member of a wish list group, they should be frequently checking the list to see what to vote for. If that is done, how could they not know it was getting close to their wish? It would seem apparent also that waiting until it's 4 or 5 or even 10 or 11 on the list is risky because of voting holds and facebook winners when some people don't use facebook. (That problem could be fixed if all non facebook users would sign up for the email list.) If a person isn't checking in to see what to vote for, they are not fulfilling their duties as a member of the group. It's rude to expect others to vote for their wish if they don't bother to vote for other's wishes.

On another note, cutiepie is doing this as a service to us, and those of us who get the designs by email instead of facebook know that she is having some problems at home and folks aren't helping out very much. They don't get their wishes in in a timely manner, but expect her to have the list updated regularly. Not everyone notifies her when they get their wish on facebook, by email, or in the hunt, though it takes so little time to drop her a post. And some don't give her the proper information when requesting a wish.

Let's all rally and do what we can to help cutiepie with the wish list. I for one would hate for her to decide it was just too much of a headache to continue with it.

Just to set the record straight. You made some assumtions in your comments that I thought were not valid. So I would like to clarify.

I have voted for everyone elses wishes nearly everyday since I joined. The times I didn't vote, I didn't have access to a PC or was ill. I knew I was close to the wish. but I thought I was out of voting range (that's 3 request). I only pointed out that with the absence of updates to the list it makes it hard to determine how close you are to the 3 voting requests. So I asked for a grace period. In the past when Cutie pie updated the list after a delay she gave a warning before she moved them to the bottom.

I sympathize with Cutiepie because I think the upkeep of this list is a nightmare and she is definitely bending over backwards for this group. However, I did try to help out in the past when she wasn't able to update (Was it a year ago??) by maintaining an unofficial wishlist in this sections... Though many people did not seem to use it...

Along with many people my life is very stressful & crazy right now. This embroidery group use to be kind and helpful. What's happened to our spirit????

I have found it easy to keep track when the site is unable to be maintained constantly. The easy way that I have found it to just click on the wishes going from top to bottom and you will know if you are able to vote as the link will tell you. As for those that get their votes, I mentally keep note as cutepie was not gone all that long. If it is too hard to keep track, maybe writing it down would help. I also do this for important issues. I have not been on here that long so am not aware of what it was like prior to the changes that people comment on. I will say that the past couple weeks either things have moved very slowly or in todays situation both the top 2 that were eligible for voting were chosen So sometimes it moves really fast - other times it moves very slow.

Thanks for the clarification. I hope you didn't mean to imply that I was unkind and un-helpful. As I stated, my comments were not directed to you (althought inspired by your post) as I realize that I don't know all the circumstances in your case. And I have no problem with your request to be reinstated to your place on the list. However, I stand by my suggestion that wishes should be stated well before a person is within 10 wishes of the top. With multiple wishes from the same set and voting holds, a lot can happen in just a few days. And we should consider that just as things happen to keep us from our computers, things can happen to keep cutiepie from updating the list. I also apologize if I incorrectly read your post as complaining. While printed communication prevents misunderstanding of specific words, it doesn't convey intent nearly as well as face to face communication. I miss the inflections and facial cues, and smiley faces just don't do the job. Friends?

I guess, I've been disappointed in all the negative comments after all the changes that have occur. It's kind of taken the fun out of it for me. Your comments did strike me as negative too. I think you did mean it as a criticism. It's just another push that is sending me slowly drifting away from this.

Mtn Hi, I have moved you back up to where you were before I updated yesterday, and put your wish in place. I can completely understand how easy it is to get confused as to what is going on and how far the voting has gone from the top of the list. I really hate to move people down without their getting a wish, so I am happy to move you back (especially since you mentioned it so quickly after it happened). The person (no names mentioned) that wrote me to complain that her wish had gone to the bottom a week and a half previously didn't get much sympathy however. If you see something that you question, please ask/write as soon as possible. I DO make mistakes, after all.

Not to single anyone out, I do want to take this opportunity to reiterate something. Remember, it is better to have made a wish and change it later than to keep it as a "placeholder". This sentence was copied directly from the top of the actual wishlist page, so there is no excuse for people not knowing it.

I'm fairly new to this site - Dec 2010. And I've been jumped on a few times for doing things wrong. I've apologized for mistakes and tried to learn from them. I'm sorry you took my comments as unkind, as they weren't intended that way. However, I respect your right to feel that way and I can do no more than apologize. I hope your life becomes less stressful and less crazy.

(This is in response to #27) I neglected to quote it. Nothing new...

Thanks for allowing me to remain in position. You are very sweet. I do appreciate all the work you put into this. For me it seems to be very complex to maintain this list with the facebook freebies and not everyone using facebook and the compensation you give to those who don't use it. I think you are doing an amazing job.

I'm not complaining. & really this is not a big deal for me but sometimes I'm not sure which are the top 3 to vote for. I do my best but I must confess I've skipped over ones that were available for voting because I thought they were fullfilled & you hadn't updated the list yet (I.e. the patriotic heart was top on the list for a long time) There really is nothing to fix.

I think the confusion for me are the facebook freebies and leaving them on the list out of consideration for the requester. Some people may not respond to you. What a dilemma. I sympathize!
