Cool Flash Card reading Fat error

Hi. I am new to Machine Embroidery. I have two Compact Flash Cards that will not work in my Janome 300E. When I plug them into my computer they are fine. All the designs are listed an every thing looks OK. When I put the Flash Card into my Sewing Machine it comes up with a problem..A Fat Error Cannot read. Can anyone help me with this problem. Hope someone knows what I mean. Thanks

Do you have to format the flash card first? I don't know Janome but I know the Elna I'm using now is formatting my memory stick before I can use it.

Hi. Yes I format the card in the sewing machine, I then copy from the computer to the card. (The card reads as if everything is OK. BUT when I put it in the Sewing Machine. No Go. It tells me I have a Fat Error and it cannot read it. I have many cards all the same, just every now and then this happens.

Can you format the card in the computer? Maybe that helps? I have no clue....just thinking what you could do. I only know there are two systems: FAT and NTFS for allocating files.
On the other hand: if the card was formatted in the sewing machine it should be ok .

I have the Janome 300E too, and I've never had this problem. Do you take the designs from the computer thru Digitizer Pro, or Customizer? I would think if there's an error, the computer is the one to blame, hee hee hee. I have a card that stores a zillion designs, but the sewing machine memory is smaller, and can't read everything on the card. Do you think maybe there are too many designs on the card? Usually when that happens to me, though, it just doesn't show all the designs, but it doesn't give me an error message. Have you tried asking your dealer? If you don't have a good dealer, write out for me exactly every step you are taking, and I'll ask my dealer for you, she's fabulous!!

      Good luck,
      Marji
