      Default Problems with opening design

I downloaded the Birthday filefrom the Announcements Set for the hunt I found. It would not open because it said it was corrupt. This is the first time that has happened. Did anyone else have a problem with it?

I haven't had any problems with the files. Try downloading again.

The daily and hourly and hunt are not zipped. But the sets are zipped.

I have never had a problem unzipping the files, but you can try downloading them again and if you forgot the link, then email and they will give you the links to the purchased designs.

There shouldn't be a problem with the unzipping. You might try to unzip the file once again and then if that doesn't work, try to download it once again. Most likely something weird happened while it was downloading and the file somehow became corrupt. Did you use the extract procedure from the Wizard or another method of unzipping?

That is a personal idea. I unzip the designs into folders, so then it is easy to check what I have. I do use Embird with the viewing plugin. It is the best program I have found

When unzipping it is best to do each to it's own folder and then you can decide how to file them. Otherwise you will end up with a folder of assorted designs and not necessarily know who the digitizer was or which pictures and text files go with which design. they are not always named the same.

I agree. I have many designs that in the beginning I just put in according to type. Problem is I have now no idea where I got them. Now I post according to digitizer and if I have a lot make sub-folders inside.

I have 2 sets of files, One is by digitizer and then when I get a bunch, that I am not sure by whom they are, then they go in the designs by category.
I find that most off of different yahoogroups go in these sections as I may only get one or two designs from them. sometimes I will file digitizers design set in both places,s o I can be sure to find it when I want it.
Like all the appliques, I bought yesterday will go in Designs by Sick Purchased and also will be in Applique under category.I find this helps, only I am about 2 years behind getting everything filed

I used to worry about that, now I file them as they come and then when I put them on the card, I use Embird and check they are all the correct format and off I go.
Why convert until ready to use. They all view the same.

Every design I download when I try to open it it states it was corrupted while downloading from email. Since I didn't download thru email I know it's not corrupt, or my Adobe is not high enough to read the file, I have a new lap top with the latest programs and Adobe 9 and I still can't see a picture of the design. What and where should I get to fix this

Do you know what kind of file it is? Perhaps it's an embroidery file with an extension that your embroidery/digitizing software cannot read. If this is the case, you can use some free software to convert it to a file that your software can read. Hope this helps!

What free software are you talking about. I heard about that before. I don't have that problem often but it does occasionally happen and I just delete the design.

Tajima by Ambassador will let your view all types, but I don't know if it lets you convert it... hmmm.. I have that program, I will check and see later.
If I stitch fast enough does it count as an aerobic exercise ? My husband said if I buy any more (fabric) (craft supplies) he would leave me - I'll miss him.
