You can do whatever you feel up to doing. Whether that is just reading what others have written, asking questions about things you want to understand better, or offering your opinion and advice to those who ask questions is up to you. Whichever you choose, we welcome you to our happy embroidering family.

Hi Dorothy, I too have a Janome 300E and a 6500. I mostly make quilts. I would love to learn the art of spinning, but I think I better use my time on the toys that I have. I am not quite sure how to navigate these forums either, but it certainly is fun learning.

Hi, looks like your doing just fine posting. I'm still trying to get the hang of this too. Sounds interesting, the spinning wool, would love to do that.

I checked on youtube a while back and there was a fellow I believe his name is Sam Lewis. He was sewing leather with a Brother sewing machine and a chisel tip sewing needle and heavy upholstery thread ? I believe. He said you have to go very slowly Hope this helps. I thought I'd try it with my treadle. I am in Northern BC. Thanks. Lex

Hello and welcome to forum. There are a few of us on here from BC. I grew up in the Castlegar area but now live in Victoria. I bought my Janome 9700 about a year ago and have quickly become addicted to embroidery. This site has offered lots of good advice and also a forum to show off my work.

Welcome to the forum, Dorothy. It's a great place to communicate with wonderful, kind people who have the same interests as you do.

I am from BC, also ~ Richmond~. Are you anywhere near Richmond? I also am a 'Janome girl'...MC11000SE, 6260QC, 1200D. Love them all.

Looking forward to some of your posts when you're comfortable enough to write and show your projects.
