It's good to know that even the professionals have their problems. Hope you got everything sorted out, Sonia.
I just had to share this, as we were talking about breaking bobbins not so long ago...

Never give up, never surrender.
Yes, I have, la_cole, it happened while I was winding, so no big mess inside the machine.

And that looks like the "good" type of bobin.... I've had the cheap ones break numerous times.
Sorry - I really do know how to spell bobbin!
I often break bobbins, Mylisa, at least one a week, sometimes more!

Really? Mine usually get stepped on.
I do feel better now ..... occasionally when winding a bobbin - something goes haywire - usually on my little portable White that is my take-a-long. Of course I related the horror story with the clear thread ... please I don't want to think about it!
I feel for you Sonia, been there done that when I wasn't paying close enough attention. But I must admit I have never broken a bobbin. Yet!.

Sometimes mine gets spun around the spindle when I'm filling it! And I have to manually(of course) unwind it. That's a pain!
I have had the same issue when winding plastic bobbins sometimes. Usually they will break in the middle causing the top to go spinning in the air while the bobbin is winding. these have been the wal mart purchased bobbins so I don't have a fit when it happens and they are the ones for the brother quilting machine.
oh dear looks familiar Sonia,
Sonia, this happens often for me. Glad I am not the only one.

This one at least came off cleanly, not like some others that I have had.

Not a broken bobbin, but my machine turned on me today and sewed through the the nail of my left index finger. First time ever, and I've been using machines of some sort since I was a kid in the 50's. Hubby wasn't happy when I woke him from his nap to staunch the blood!
That, I must admit, I have not done for a while. I do come close to adorning my finger with a few stitches now and then, because of the way I hoop, or don't hoop, rather.
I hope your finger is OK, Mylisa!

I'm happy to say my finger doesn't seem to be sore at all - just a hole in the nail.
Glad to hear that, Mylisa!
Here is another story:
One of my hoops just popped the attachment part that goes onto the embroidery arm ROFL!
