      Cat,

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but I'll try to answer it.

If you are asking how this wishlist came to be made originally, then the answer is several Forum members (not website employees) got together and decided to help each other out by voting together as a team. We each get 3 wishes every day, so we began supporting each other voluntarily or informally with our wishes. And then more Forum members joined the team -- all it takes is votes.

If you are asking how this wishlist is currently maintained, then the answer is that as a wish is granted (i.e. the design wins the Free Daily PES design), the wisher's name is moved to the bottom of the list and the next wisher moves to the top. As wishes get granted (with votes), everyone and his/her wish continues to move up the list.

I hope this answers your question. Unfortunately, I speak English only. So, I don't quite understand your syntax but I'm glad you asked.

      Question

I don't understand the place holders. How does that work? Just curious and trying to figure everything out (that'll never happen!). I try to vote for the top three every day. I think it is all a good idea.

The placeholders, as I recall, began when a person's wish was on for awhile, but they they got their wish instead from an hourly freebie, bought it, etc. Then, they wanted to change their wish without losing their place in line, but were unsure of which design they'd want, thus the placeholder began.

Although joining into the daily voting is totally voluntary, it is a fun thing to do. It is nice to know you are helping someone get their wish. It is very hard for a design to win the daily free spot without the cooperation of the list.

How often does the wish list get updated? I placed a wish maybe 2 days ago & it's not on the list yet. I think I've been on the computer too long. It seems longer than that. Anyway, I think I'm used to instant gratification.....

Opps! I think I'm confused. The last placeholder says February 27, but the last eddited date by cutiepie was January 16... I don't understand how this works???

Mtn-hi, I am glad that I decided to check in on my FIL's computer. Mine is dead, due to the motherboard getting fried. That is the reason that none of my work has been done (updating the wishlist is one thing that I do, when Susan/Screenbags isn't around). I lost my computer access on Friday, and haven't been able to get back regularly yet.

As for how the whole placeholder thing goes, they are updated manually and the last time I was able to update the Wishlist was on the 27th of February.

The "edited by Cutiepie" thing is misleading. It only updates the date if I enter some reason why I am editing, and I tend to be a bit lazy and don't fill in why I am. Since I am the Forum Mama (Administrator), I can be "invisible" if I want to be, so the system doesn't "see" me making changes unless I tell it that it can.

Did that make any sense? I'm not sure, since my brain is a bit scrambled with the stress of trying to buy a new computer. A custom machine is going to run me about $2,300 (with life-time service included). My husband nearly swallowed his tongue when he heard that!

Thank you, Cutiepie for the explanation.

Sorry to hear about your PC. I hope you didn't lose anything. My PC is 8 yrs old & probably needs to be replaced, too. I "lost" my external hard drive just last month. Actually, it was the cable that connected it to the CPU that went bad. My sister knew of a college techie who broke into the box & was able to retrieve my files. I was happy! I was saving stuff to it without backing it up. I didn't worry about it because it was the newest thing I bought. (It was my backup drive) Anyways, now I have a naked hard drive, which supposely works and a new one that I have to leave unplugged because it freezes my old system on reboot. My sister suggested having 2 external hard drives so that they could backup each other. It's unlikely that both would go bad at the same time. I guess you have to suffer for your art! So I'm limping along here.

Because of all the stress of that, I decided I need to start looking for a PC. I was pricing a basic laptop & for what I'm interested in. It would have cost me $1200 on sale at Dell online. You must need a powerful machine!! Are you looking at Apple? On the other side of the fence, the PCs are 64 bit instead of 32. So my old applications probably won't run unless you install a virtual 32 bit machine.... What a pain! Hence my reluctance to upgrade!

Well I wish you luck with your new machine!!! Hope all goes well for you.

      Hi Cutiepie,

I hope your PC hunting is going well. Sorry to bother you again.
This is more an FYI than a question. From my perspective 4 of the wishes have come up. They are Tribalheart 008, Little Crinoline7, Fairies and Flowers 1 and 10Shepard pups. So I'm skipping those & going on to the next on the list.
If anyone disagrees with this, it could be posted here.

does anyone know what is happening?
The first five wishes have been granted but still are on the list for days now.
And I asked to fill my placeholder position but that didn't take place either.

      Hi all,

I think the Girly Skull got voted in and the autumnangel04 (pink with blue outlines)
is what I think is up for voting as of March 20. Anyone disagree? I know that I don't have it yet and I'm pretty good about gathering the free daily design.

      Hi Godiva89123,
We have a temporary list that we are maintaining in the wish list forum. The official list is restricted for modification. You can use the link that gets you to the wish request list. Please post your requests & I will update. We are doing this as atemporary fix until Cutiepie gets her new PC up and running.
Hopefully you can use this link to get directly there.

About the PC's, Costco usually has some good deals for standard machines. Nothing custom made. I got a laptop from them for 600 last month with Windows 7 2.6 GHz 1066 MHz Intel processor, 4 gb memory and a 320 gb hard drive. I'm loving it. check them out at www.costco.com. They can ship them to your house in 3 business days.

If you aren't a costco member, I could order for you.

      Hi,
I'm trying to get a new request for Pinkcat for a new design.
I would like design Mystique 6.
I've tried to put it in myself and I can't seem to make it work.
I'm in the place holder for April.
I'd appreciate if you could put it in for me.
      Sincerely,
      Apphia Eichelberger
