Count me in! I can't wait to get started!
Time for a new Block Swap and I thought I would take the reins and give it a shot.
1 - ANYONE and EVERYONE can join
2 - SIGN UP DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 30, 2010
3 - DEADLINE is JANUARY 31, 2011: Ladies and Gents this gives you lots of time to get your thinking caps on and work your magic.
3 - THEME: WESTERN - any type (horses, cowgirls, cowboys, wagons, etc.). Yes, Native American is included in the theme. I'm leaving it very wide range because I think the end result will be amazing with all the different possibilities.
Of course I had to choose western because of our horse rescue. We will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary in March 2011 and this will be a beautiful item to raffle off.
4 - ALL BLOCKS are to be 12" square (12.5 x 12.5).
5 - We need YOU; come and have fun. I will try to keep an updated list of all that sign up.
Post in this thread or send me a private message that says that you want to swap with us. On November 30 we will know how many participants we have and therefore, how many quilt blocks you will be making. You will have from Nov. 30 to Jan. 31, 2011 to make as many pairs of 12½" western blocks as there are participants (of course that doesn’t mean that you can’t start now). Yes, 2 blocks per swapper.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Hugs!
~ Sherry ~

As tempting as this one is - I think I'm going to opt out. But I still need to get some of the quilts I got done first. And I got Christmas coming up and have stuff to make.
Count me in.
Barbara
I was going to sit the next swap out because of Christmas and all of the ufo's that have landed at my house but now that you have picked a theme that I have been itching to do, count me in.
Question #1 : Western includes Native Americans right? Just want to double check before I start.
Question #2: Is Klarina still hosting one?
Thanks

Me too, I will wait until next swap because I have too many UFOs sitting in my home.
Regarding Question #2, I won't be hosting one swap this year. I will wait until this new ends and then start a new one. This will give me time to, hopefully, be UFO free by the beginning of 2011.... lol
Just a quick note to let you know I have updated the first post - answer to questions and list of sign ups so far. Thanks ladies and I am really looking forward to this. Hope many more will join up - this will be a blast.

Well since I don't have to have these done till after Christmas - I've decided to go ahead and join. Count me in ladies!!!
Haha I knew you would! I already have one finished!!
Naturechick
Yeah yeah yeah. Rub it in. I've not even decided what to do on my blocks yet.
Me think Naturechick intends to be the one with her blocks turned in first this time - lol. Time will tell. Me thinks the further along DD gets - the slower your blocks will get made.
Because I know Granny mode will kick in and you'll be sewing up baby stuff!!!
Two finished!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!
Naturechick
Must be nice, wish I could say that!! I'm still in the designing stage, geesh!![]()
Well I know what I'm going to do for my blocks - I got it in my head - now I just need to get some fabric. I see another trip to Joanne's on Saturday!! Now if I can just find the material I'm looking for!!
PUT MY NAME IN
I really shouldn't join this swap. I'm selling my house and people are coming to look every day. I can't mess up my sewing room. But since they don't have to be done until the end of January I probably could get them done. I don't have a use for a horse or western blanket but maybe I could find a cause in this area that would like to raffle it off. It is for a good cause after all.
You know this gave me an idea. We all should do a swap regarding dogs and cats then when they are made into quilts we all donate ours to our own SPCA to raffle off. that would mean many SPCA's getting the benefit. Or you could make many different dog blankets and give them to SPCA to sell in their stores. Would you all be willing to make quilts or dog blankets to donate to your own SPCA's?
After we sell this house and move into another house I think I'll sponsor that one.
Ok, there are 7 people on the list right now, so does that mean that each of those 7 people will make 14 blocks each.
Watermelon..you are missed.
Tracy...where are you.
