      Default August Contest

      (AT LAST! LOL)
This is to announce that the August unofficial DBS contest is now OPEN!
I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to Patty (p_lanter), kiri 9, Ravenstreamr and Sonia
for all being so generous to donate their designs for the prizes.

The 'rules' are simple, and will follow the format that Patty laid out so well:
You may all enter a maximum of two projects, they do not have to have been created this month (but I do ask that they have not been entered in any of the DBS contests before).
A 'project' is ANYTHING that has a DBS design embroidered on it - be as 'interesting' as you like!
Here are Patty's tried and tested points:
      A) Here is where you post pictures of items you want to be in the contest.
B)You can enter 2 projects per Contest.
      C) You may use other designs in your project but must have at least 1 design that is from DBS. (...but not just plain font letters)
      D) Must mention what DBS design you added in your project.
      E) If you used a design from another source in addition to a DBS design please also try to state where the design came from.
      F) Winners can choose whether to post instructions or not on how they made their project. This will make it easier for those that have difficulty writing in English. (..but we can usually decipher what you are saying, even if the words aren't 'quite right' LOL)

The winner gets ALL the designs.
      2nd place gets 4 choices.
      3rd place gets 3 choices.
All others that enter the contest will get to choose 2 designs
Those who vote, but have not entered a project will get to select one design.
By way of saying thank you for making this such a popular contest.

This contest will end on 31st August.

The top three winners will have their pictures posted in a winner's folder.

I am struggling to post photos of the prizes, so hope you bear with me
The first picture is of Patty's first Geisha girl (Cute Geishas_001 W 67.8mm H 99.5mm)

Here is the jpeg of Patty's Mylar waterlily & dragonfly (May Mylar Challenge 109.8mm x 150.4mm) - and she has also included separate files for the dragonfly 75.3mm x 53.3mm and lily 90.4mm x 70.2mm for those with only small hoops

Here is my stitch out of the dragonfly&waterlily, using Mylar for the dragonfly wings and lily pad, and silk for the lily flower (I didn't have suitable Mylar for it!), and taking the liberty of stitching the body and legs of the dragonfly in variegated metallic thread.

Whoops.... the up load failed, so I will go back and re-size the photo in a min. and try again!

Thanks for hosting another contest Moto. Now that I see another of Patty's cute geishas I'm going to have to try to find something to sew for the contest again - that is, if I can get out of the kitchen construction zone.

Thanks for taking on the contest, moto. The designs are so cute this month! Wish I were going to have time to get to my machine. Going to have company for the better part of the month. But I'm anxiously awaiting all of y'all's projects!

Thanks Motoandnutty for keeping the contest running. I will continue to offer my designs for the contest each month. I thought you might all like to see the mylar design I digitizedstitched out on a tote bag. I created this bag from a table mat. Quick and easy,
I love the pillowcases that you did NanaJ with the monkeys. Your granddaughter is going to be thrilled to have these on her pillows.

Thank you for being so quick off the mark with your cute monkeys NanaJ, they are such a worthy entry that shows the design off well.
Of course Tristin will LOVE them - every little monkey would
