Not sure what you are talking about. Are you looking for a list of all of Sicks design sets?
I've never seen anything lilke that here. You might want to put a ticket in and ask where it's at or if they have it at all.
I am looking for a list of design folders that can be downloaded.
I have seen them on some sites but can't find it now.
Thanks
Sue

no, she means the Windows folders with names to describe the items inside like: applique, flowers, bookmarks, quilt blocks, that kinda thing; I've seen 'em around somewhere, but can't remember where! (big help I am - *not*!)
Why not just make up your own list. That's what I do. I currently have 27 different category files separated by year. I make a subfolder with color charts, instructions, copyright info, etc.

Never give up, never surrender.
I make up my own list also. Its really easy to do. when you click on save, if the folder you want is not listed, simply click on the yellow folder with the astrik on it. that makes a new folder and you can name it anything you want. You can put folders inside of other folders. Hope I've explained it good enough to be understood.

I download to one folder - then go thru and sort them once a month. I'll even - (GI+ULP!) delete some files that I know I can't use (to large) or ones that I simply don't like. But doing that onece a month - I have time to think and contemplate a few of those I choose to get rid of.
I sort mine into different folders by a wide variety of categories. Probably not the best way - but it works for me!
I have 2 major folders one for free downloads and one for purchased designs.
Then I have Subfolders with in the major folders that are named after the website or digitzer that I get the designs from.
In those Sub folders I can make other Sub folders naming them by the type of design I download. FSL, Cutwork, Children's, Christmas, Sports etc whatever the design is.

For me someone else's list wouldn't be as valuable as my own set of categories. I sort and file daily and find that I constantly revise my folders as fashions come and go or my interests expand; i.e. I did not have a folder for mylar designs until very, very recently. I like the flexibility to make my folder structure fit the way my mind works. I've never lost a design yet and I have tens of thousands.

Sewing is just another way to show your love
I am doing this for a group of people. I know there is a list to download someplace.
I add to and delete folders and make subfolders as well.
This would just be a place for them to start.
Thanks,
SueB
Could this be what you are looking for? Not really sure what to look for.

Like so many others, I just made up my own folder and sub-folders and I can add and change and it seems to suit my needs. It's really not difficult to make up your own and really not much of a time investment if you just make up the categories as you sort your designs.

I found the folders.
If you go to this website link and join the Stitch Fun News which is a daily newsletter that was started by one of the digitzers to give out Embroidery tips and also used for some of the digitzers to advertise through.
The newsletter is short and to the point.
It is free to join and they give good tips about embroidery and thread etc.
The organizing folders can be found in their Archives of the newsletter.
The April 27/2010 newsletter had a link to click to download the folders.
http://stitchfun.com/index.htm
You could just pass on the link to join the newsletter to the members of your group that you wanted the folders for.
They could just down the zip file of the folders directly to their computer which may be the easiest way for them to get them.
The zip file will have to be unzipped to extract the folders to their C drive of their computers or whatever drive they want them on.
They may even want to make a folder called Designs on their C Drive and then extract the folders to that so they could easily be found.

gartner, thanks for the site, they have a lot of useful things.
I have the list. Can I share that? It isn't a design. It is just a lot of labeled file folders with more divisions in each file. I have had it for so many years that I forgot where I found it. And, I am in way too many groups to check with all of them. I have the zipped file on my desktop for "just in case" .

I don't think you can share the Folders that you have unless you have permission from the person that created them.
If you have a link to a website to go to to download them then list the link here and that would be okay.
I gave a link to where there are free folders to download so anyone can go the Stitch Fun website and join the newsletter and download them for free from the archieve of the newsletter.

Denise,
Thank you for the link. That is probably where I found it in the first place....LOL![]()

I subscribed to their newletter and clicked on the archive and it only goes back to May - no April.
Email Mary Jane and ask her for the link to the folders or to have the link repearted in a new up and coming newsletter.
Or ask if she can update the Archives of the newletter to show the April newsletters so everyone can have access to the Folders file that was given out on April27th.
Mary Jane Allen is the owner of Perfect Little Stitches and can be contacted at tbearwoman@perfectlittlestitches.com
She is the one that puts the newletter together.
