I'm from Chicago and my Dad used to stop at the Burny (Berny?) Brothers factory and pick up these cakes. You could also buy them at the grocery store. Does anyone have a recipe for them? They were chocolate with white icing.

Kat thank you he is my fur baby
That info was fascinating! And the North Avenue plant in Northlake, IL, that's where my Dad used to take me! I got chills reading that info. My parents have been deceased for 12 years and those visits to the bakery are precious memories now. I loved going to this bakery and seeing all those great "goodies to bring Grandma" and our trip to Mundelein, Illinois, where my grandparents lived.
Thank you so much for posting this link.
Yours, Quilt Kat/NJ
