      Default Bibs for Bettie

I had a difficult time finding blank bibs in my area. Grandma Ria suggested Safeway but our stores here do not carry them. Finally I found some blank bibs at Target. I also want to give thanks for all the free designs that I have to stitch onto the bibs. Some of them are from DBS!

Roxanne - I used to make all of my bibs with embroidery on one side and a print fabric on the other side which coordinated with the embroidery design. That way if the baby messes up one side, it can be flipped over. Too often I do not have the time to make double sided bibs any more. In addition to Target, you'll find an 8 or 10 pack of blank bibs at Walmart too. Sometimes Kohls has them too, if you have a Kohl's nearby. Good luck with you bibs.

I have found my bib blanks at my local ShopKo. Wal*Mart nor K-Mart carries them.

Sometimes I don't have the time or I am too lazy to make my own bibs. I think it is fear of bias tape!

I agree Roxanne. Sometimes the binding goes on so easily and other times it doesn't turn out perfectly. And I hate to rip out stitches to redo them. If the bibs are for a close friend or relative, I'll start making them way before a baby shower or a birth. Otherwise I buy them and embroider them. If your Walmart doesn't carry the blank bibs, check online. Our Walmarts have a "ship to store" area in the back of the store. You can order online and have it shipped to the store at no cost. You are notified when they arrive.

Bias tape has always given me fits. I think "it" knows I'm nervous every time. So I try to stay far away from it.
If I decide on some bibs for my new great great nephew and niece, they will have store bought blanks with embroidery on them.

I wish you good luck with yours.

saskia they are easy to make but when you need a lot like me for my "Markets" time does not allow, so it is easier to buy them works out about $1.50 a bib which is not bad I think, sometimes when there on Special I buy more off course.

You can get plain white bibs at Babies R Us, they have them 10 for $10.
