I'm sure that I can find a conversion chart for the measurements. Betty Crocker has come out with 4 gluten free mixes. They now have a yellow cake mix, chocolate cake mix, brownies and chocolate chip cookies. They are all good and like you said you can't tell the difference. Looking forward to trying your recipes.

Well today was my husband;s birthday, so I had homemade chocolate cake and ice cream. This morning I was at my lowest weight yet, 144 pounds, but bet that won't be the same tomorrow. I will start dieting again tomorrow.

I never absolutely deny myself anything. I just limit my portion size. That doesn't mean that I eat cake or pie every day, but on birthdays and special occasions, I don't beat myself up over it. I jut go back to eating right the next day.
I've never been extremely overweight. I would like to get rid of the 10 lbs I've put on over DH's illness. Before he got sick I was at my ideal weight. I started the Sonoma Diet to lose 5-10 lbs, but the health benefits (I have IBS and it almost completely disappeared eating this way), far exceeded the weight loss benefits.

I lost 17 pounds over 1 year. I started by cutting what I ate in half but eating what I usually ate. The pounds came off for a while then stopped. Then I changed to a diet of food that was real such as veggies and fruit. I also ate mostly chicken and fish. I also eat very little carbs and if I do they are whole wheat or brown rice etc. I have been keeping the weight off and still will eat treats every now and then. If I can do it you can too!!!!

Well done Roxanne. it is to do with changing habits and looking at what you are eating, listening to you body and adjusting. Yesterday i walked past a rack of clothes, saw a top I have had my eye for some time, it was reduced, could it be in my new size..it was, i tried it on and as the make is normally on the smaller side, I nearly thought no way. it wnet on, over my ample bosom and down over my hips, yesss....I am an English 16...NanaJ I am still converting the recipes for you, trying to get the liquid ration right for you.

I noticed it's been a month since I've been on this thread. I don't know where I've been. You all have been doing very good.

I have lost 12 pounds. Finally since my broken leg has healed I'm more active so the pounds are going. Plus I only eat when I'm hungry and only enough to fill me. I have not been eating much meat. I love rice and veggies. Hope I can keep this up, 50 more pounds to go.

Keep up the good work ladies.

My problem seems to be the hormones. I do really well all month, lose a couple of pounds, and then 'that time' hits and I want to inhale everything in sight! You would think at 50 this would even out a bit!

Also, throw or give away your clothing as you lose the weight so there is no going back!

This is a very good idea Roxanne. Brian learnt a weighty lesson this weekend. We went away overnight and stayed at an hotel, before meeting up with family. We had our normal breakfast at the hotel, but Brian added the dreaded black pudding (yuk), then he decided he would just have another rasher of bacon. Lunch time we went to an Italian restaurant, I thought he would be restrained. His main course was large....then he decided to convince his grand-daughters partner to have dessert. George is built like a racing greyhound and is young, goes to the gym.....he can eat praline, what did the Hobbitt with big eyes eat, a dessert of pastry, whipped cream and all sorts of other things. i made him eat the lot and warned him, one whinge about being uncomfortable or indigestion and it will fall on deaf ears....not a murmur out of him, but he was definitely uncomfortable o the two and half hour drive back home. Yesterday he ate sparingly and did not complain, this morning he stepped on the sclaes and guess what, all the good work of the past week has been undone, becuase of his gluttony, yes he gained 2.2lbs over the weekend. I am so glad I ate only what I should, did not have dessert. Me, I have shed another 200 grams this week. Because I am rebuilding muscle I am not losing the weight so fast, but I am losing inches. Is my halo shining?

Bought my exercise video last weekend, and have done some every day but Tuesday when I got called in to the school. I'm having fun with it!

If you have a Wii, the DVD's and the yoga programme is very good. I have warned Brian that we will be eating out over the next three weeks, so he had better remember, just because it looks good, it doesn't have to be eaten. he fell into bad habits living on his own for all those years and he ate out of boredom. he is an ex Rugby player and these guys are solid, but as they age the muscle is not toned, so what they could eat when playing, they can't eat now and it does turn to fat. I plan to walk the legs off him, when doing the touristy things. I could organise a couple of Mall walks for him. I am being evil this morning...

My problem exactly. I do great all month but boy can I tell when "that time" hits. Then it's chocolate and salt.
