yesterday not a good day

Hi everyone, not a good day yesterday. I have had a cut for a year going back and forth healed in a nice circle on top of my hand but keeps making a tiny scab. So dr finally sent me to another dr. well biospy came back yesterday and it is squamous or somthing like that skin cancer. Right after I got the news called my Mom to tell her hung up the phone and within 10 min she called me back she had fell she is 84 crawled to couch. We stayed at emergency room from 3 till 11:30 she broke her hip surgery is later today but just thought I would ask for prayers thanks bunches.

Oh Dorie what a terrible day ! I will keep you and your mom in my thoughts and prayers. Things will turn out fine its just so scarey as our parents get older. Take care and keep positive thoughts.

Dorie - please do not neglect yourself whilst worrying about and caring for your mother. A broken hip requiring surgery in the elderly is always scary, isn't it? Make sure you take the necessary steps to deal with the skin cancer as soon as possible. I join with the other women in wishing you both a good recovery.

Dorie, I remember when my Mom had her hip broke. What an upsetting time! I certainly will remember you in my prayers! Has your DR given you any info as to what you need to do for your hand?? Do you have to have radiation or chemo? Let us know how you are! Thinking of you, Joyce

You are strong but remember take it one minute at at time if you have to. we can always handle that. Sorry to hear about your bad news. Two bad things in one day.
I pray your mother's surgery goes well. Hopefully they can get your skin cancer removed. My husband had it, and they was able to cut it out.

Big (((HUGS))) for you and your mom dorie - but it is good news that you know what is happening on your hand (and you will now be able to get it healed), and in a way it will be good news for your mom - as she will have a 'shiny new' hip which is going to be good and strong, and you also know that she is able to cope with getting help in an emergency - that is quite something of a reassurance as she is an octogenarian. I only pray that my own mum would be able to cope in that sort of situation.

Thank you for all your prayers and hugs. My Mom got moved over to rehab on Monday and is doing great. It is amazing how fast they get them up and moving. I go tomorrow for surgery on my hand and not looking forward to it as it is just healing from the biospy. Wasn't suppose to keep it covered after two days but with being up at the hospital in the emergency room for 8 hours the day my Mom broke her hip and then up in her room for a few days was afraid not to keep it covered. So I took it off yesterday and it started to really heal good after it was able to breath a little better being out from under the bandage, but back to bandage tomorrow. Have so much catching up on here to do. I have been trying to check to see what everyone needed voted on but not much more than that. Thanks again for all your prayers they are powerful stuff.
