I am Phillipa, new to embroidery by machine, after watching my lovely twin in Texas do it over the years, my turn came in July this year, nothing like being thrown at the deep end and being taught by an expert. I was hooked. This beats embroidering by hand.
Came back home (I am in exile) and bought myself a Brother Innovis MK 700E.
I don't do things by half, my son got married May this year and I wanted to make a Marriage Quilt for him and my lovely new daughter in law. These quilts are normally hand embroidered by the guests with their names and each sqaure is sent back to the quilt organiser. I am in England and guests came to the wedding from around the world, so I decided I would get the guest list and do this on my machine. I am now half way through embroidering 88 squares.
I am still enjoying the fun of sourcing threads and stabilisers and all this after two weeks of tution in Texas.
Oh I am Australian exiled in England for another two years (long story).![]()

Welcome to the site. I know you will find youself becoming an addict like the rest of us. The Wedding quilt sounds wonderful. My aunt Mary sent out all the neices and nephews quilt block sqaures to be signed by their family and then returned to my aunt MAry. She Hand embroidery the signatures and gave to my Aunt Bert for their 50th Wedding anniversay. It was such a wondeful thing to see to. My aunt and the family loved the idea. so I can only imagine hopw happy your son will be to get a quilt made tht way!!
Thank you ladies (this is an assumption on my part). I have my machine set up on the dining room table and when I get the chance I do embroider another block of the quilt. i will post up photos of the quilt when I have it completed. I am also a mad PSPer, make computer emails and the like. I have some PSP creations I would like to digitize and embroider, but slowly slowly

Just in the door after an evening at the movies, finding the lovely welcomes from everyone has helped make the day. Went and saw The Fabulous Mr Fox. I wont think of George Clooney in the same way again.
Hi, Phillipa. You are a long way from your twin. It is nice that you can now share a hobby.
