I too love this set and got it with points as soon as I could. I also only have a 4x4. So, I would like to add my vote for doing the doll with a split design. If it was split at the waist, it would work well.
For now, I was thinking of trying to make my own doll by embroidering a face on felt and then cutting the body out by hand and sewing/embroidering by hand.
Everyone - when making the clothes, you could add bits of lace around the edges of the applique to make it more 3D! After sewing, buttons could also be added.
What a great idea, Skipper to make matching clothes for the girls!
I also love grannyof 9's idea to add lace and other embellishments. I am really going to have to spend some quality time with Sunny when this doll show is over.
Thanks again, Heidi! You are making my 'wish-to-do' list longer with each new set you add! LOL
Skipper that's exactly what I thought when I saw applique - yes, now I can make the dolls clothes in the same fabric as my grand daughters newest outfits! That should be so much fun. Note to me - need to sew faster LOL
As a child, I played with paper dolls and designed their clothes. These are adorable and the boy doll is a must have. Thank you Heidi!! Dreama
I'm so happy to see everyone has great ideas for these paper dolls. I love the matching clothes thing, and yes there is a boy who will be along for these and quite a few others.
Heidi
You have read my thoughts with the clothes idea. I too used to make doll clothes to match my daughters clothes. I still have the Daisy Kingdom doll clothes and matching dresses from my last daughter. If my memory serves me right you were looking for paper paper dolls and I mentioned the ones at simplicity pattern company. If you are here's the link, they are back now that the site is done.

Thanks for posting this Windstar. I think I was looking for it.![]()

Paper dolls...does that bring back memories...and you had to be so careful cutting the beautiful gowns out, making sure that the tiny tabs to keep the clothes on the dolls werent damaged. I really like this set, and although I have no little girls in my life...even my neighbors have all boys, and I only have 'grand-dogs'. I might just have to make a set for my self!!

They're soooooo cute. Can't wait until my GGD is old enough for them. I used to design my own clothes for my dolls. They weren't beautiful, but it was fun.
Chris, I sewed out the doll yesterday and made a ballet dress also. She turned out so cute. I am making mine for my GD for Christmas. Everytime I walked pass where I have them I stop and look and smile. It just does something inside to make you happy. So, make yourself a set and smile! I know I will be right there with the GD on Christmas day having a good time. I can make a lot of clothes between now and then. Yvonne
Heidi, I sewed her out yesterday and made a ballet dress using the #7 dress. Skipped the sash and then did it last adding the tutu. My request is to be able to sew the top out and then be able to add a gathered skirt at the waist. Thanks so much for these. I can't wait for the boy! Your designs sew out very well. Yvonne
