Aunt in hospital

Oh Tndenim so sorry all this is happening but all these prayers are wonderful coming from this group as they have been helping me get through my Mom's broken hip, the falls she took when the moved her from er bed to one in the room and all the blood loss and my hand surgery. Just knowing that so many people care really helps. Will continue praying for your Aunt and you and the rest of your family that you have a good outcome like I just had.

Well we have had some improvement. The bowel blockage has broken up. She had gone to the bathroom - YES!!! No surgury. They wanted to to a scan today to see if it was all cleared up - but she refused. Said nothing was helping her. She's depressed and fussy. Her words to my sister. She's lonesome as well. With work and things having piled up - we have not been up there since Sunday. We are going up tomorrow morning to spend the holiday with her. We hope she will be moved back to the nursing home by this weekend. Her heart issues have stabilized - thank goodness. But she has deteriorated some. Her mental capacity is a bit diminished. we still do not know if that's from the meds or her last heart attack causing issues. Time will tell on that.

I thank you all again for your prayers and so does she. I've told her my friend from here on DBS have been praying for her and they are from accross the globe. That seemed to make her perk up a bit. So again - thanks.

My aunt has finally gotten out of the ICU. She's doing a bit better. They have started her on liquids and we hope she'll get to the nice "yucky" baby food by Monday. IF she can start eating that with no problems - then we can get her moved back to the nursing home. We are hoping she'll be back in it sometime next week. that 'll make it so much easier on us to get to see her a lot more often. This has been such a long hospitalization - almost 5 weeks up at Nashville and almost 2 weeks over in the local hospital. She's not doing as well mentally - she sometimes has problems remembering. and at other times she does well. And the same thing with her emotional state. She gets so lonesome uyp in the hospital. We can't get there everyday. With work and everything else - it's just not possible. My aunt an uncle cannot drive up to NAshville - so they can only go up when we can take them. It's hard on all of us.

But again - thank you all for your prayers and your concern. It means a lot to me that you all are out there and listening to me complain.

I hope she will continue doing better and will be moved back to the nursing home very soon. You're not complaining, we all have to share what's on our mind from time to time.

My aunt Bert got to come home to her nursing home this week. She is back to eating solid food. She is doing so much better!!! Thanks again for all the prayers said for her, I know they all helped tremendously. I just wated to pass on the good news to you kind folk.

It is most definitely a Christmas Blessing. My brotehr was here for the weekend from Ohio and he got to go and spend time with her both days. Needless to say she was thrilled to deathe to see him. It had been years since he's been down here. But he always calls her a few times a month. Now all we need to do is get her a hearing aid and get her a phone in her room. The more of her nieces and nephews will be able to call her.

When I go see her Thursday - I'll take my cel phone and let her talk with my two cousins while I'm there if she wants to. My cell phone has a speaker option that allows he to hear them better and allows us to be able to tell her what they are saying when she doesn't understand. That'll make her Christmas for her! And she's getting a FSL angel from me. She loves her angels!

I just wanted to give you folks an update on my Aunt. She is doing extremely well these days. She had to go back into the hospital for a few days a week or so ago and have a "filter" put into her legs. She had gotten some blood clots from being be ridden for so long.

But she is up and walking these days - not far - but she is trying to walk further and further each day. She is actually eating pretty good. Well when she stand the food they feed her at the home. I have to admit - it does not look appetizing. She has even been dining at the cafeteria in the evenings most of the time. She had found that a lady that used to live next door to her is at the facility and she enjoys visitng with her. She also has another lady that had been in the assisted living center live in a room two doors down from her. So she is socializing these days as well.

All you fine people here who said prayers for her - I again thank you. I assure you they have helped. And she said to thank you as well. When I told her that I had some online friends from all over the globe sending prayers her way - she was grateful and a bit overwhelmed too.

Great news, thank you for keeping us updated. I think care facilities have such a bad reputation but one factor people forget is the socialization factor. So many elderly become isolated when living at home in failing health.
You and yours remain in my thoughts and prayers.
