Never give up, never surrender.
Sorry La Cole will add it in to the post.
Couldn't remember all the names!
Is this an age thing? LOL

You remembered more than I would have, Denise. To make matters worse, this machine is no longer manufactured. Keep wishing to win the lottery for a Diamond.

If I won a lottery I would be after a commercial machine like the AmayXT.
16 needles, larger hoops, speed! that's my Dream machine.
Yes and the #1+ , Rose and my D1 and D1ES are no longer made either.
I am not sure I could wait to win a lottery, just may have to break down and buy one now my youngest is finished with University at the end of December.

Thanks Denise in Calgary.
Today, 12-05-2009, I had the privilege of making a sewing and embroidery project on the new Baby Lock Ellisimo, Evolution and Sashiko. WOW! What fun.
I enjoy taking classes where I have the opportunity to try other machines. I seem to learn so much and everyone has the opportunity to share their experiences with the machines. Thanks for the tips. - Sincerely-Seamstress_Irene
If you have not looked at Jan's website if you own a Husqvarna, all I can say is: why? I have a #1 Plus and D1. The #1 Plus I bought used and after I bought it the dealer said they didn't give instructions on the machine. I was on my own. I went home, read the book, floundered on my own and discovered the Yahoo group for the #1 Plus which Jan is the moderator. So many helpful people on that site. I then found a dealer (purchased the D1 and 936 from him later on) that actually gave me the plus hoop and walking foot and some other things for my #1 plus (one of their customers said to give it to someone who could us it). I have to travel 120 miles to this dealer, instead of 70 to the other one, but it is worth it. I also have Jan's #1 plus tutorial. You can read so much, but just watching and learning the bells go off and the "now I get it" trips in the brain. Many good tips from Jan's website. Because of Jan's tips, I keep a dollar bill as a part of my maintenace kit for my machines. Yvonne
Well I guess we should have the Yahoo groups for the #1 Plus and the Designer1 machines listed here for anyone wanting to find a group that has lots of informatrion for these machines.
Jan Henning is a member and moderates on both these Groups and answers lots of questions about the machines and software.
Here is the Designer 1 yahoo Group if anyone would like to join.
If you have a Designer1, DesignerESS or Designer SE or Designer Diamond machine you may want to start with this group.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vikingd1/
If you have a #1 Plus Machine here is a great group for you to join.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Viking1Plus_Orchidea/
Members of both these groups are always willing to exchange informartion and ideas and help solve problems regarding embroidery and sewing.
Hope to see you there!

Thanks for the information.

Hi all,
I have just recently joined and am very excited. I have just purchased a Designer SE and love it but am having software problems. I noticed on the website mentioned that if you only single click on the smart update you won't get an error message. Sadly I tried but to no avail. NOw it tells me it can't find the login utilities either. I have tried reinstalling the software as well. Can anyone help? I should say that I have the 3D embroidery software.
Thanks,
TheCdnRock

Thanks for your comments everyone. I did contact Jan, she was awesome!!!! Unfortunately, I don't have the full version. Sounds like I need to buy some software so if anyone has any great ideas about some good pricing, it would be appreciated.
TheCdnRock
What software do you need and what do you need it to do?
And what part of the 3D Software do you have?

Hi Denise,
I got the 3D organizer software with the communication software and also received a MEGA hoop with CD. I can't load the mega hoop software. When I bought the machine they indicated I received the 3D embroidery software. I emailed Jan (she's wonderful by the way) and she quickly came to the conclusion I didn't actually get the software only the organizer and communication software and also no "dongle". I guess I am looking for the actual embroidery software now, although considering buying Embird instead.
Thanks,
Linda in Winnipeg
