HI Mary welcome to the forum. You should be able to give the quilters in the group some great ideas and maybe we can help you with embroidery tips. Again Welcome and feel free to jump right in!
Hi, Last month I had decided not to buy an embroidery machine. That lasted about a week as I looked at the beautiful designs available. I bought a used Babylock Ellure from a nice gal in Mississippi. I'm learning how to use the basic functions (so far, so good). I'm amazed by the machine! I'm a quilter and my main interests at this point are redwork and quilt labels. I do longarm quilting and am working on how to quilt my finished tops with embroidery blocks in them. I have a long way to go and am going to read advise from all of the experianced folks on this forum. Thanks fo haveing me! Mary

Welcome to DBS, Mary. Congrats on the 'new to you' machine. I'm sure you will have it humming up a storm in no time.
Never give up, never surrender.
Mary - Welcome to the group. You will get so much encouragement here. There are many quilters who also embroider. You will love your machine. I hope you have lots of fun with it and get hooked on embroidery as the rest of us have done. Cathy
Welcome to the forums Mary, you must be stronger willed than most of us - to stay resolved for a whole week! LOL
I'm glad that the 'bug' got you in the end - machine embroidery is going to compliment your quilting no end.
You are going to have such fun discovering all that your new 'Baby' can do, and inventing new reasons to embroider anything that stays still long enough!
Do join in with the chat, and ask any questions you like - there is an amazing amount of collective knowledge here, and we are all bursting to share it.
I look forward to hearing of some of your adventures.
Mary Welcome to the group. Embroidery can work so well with quilting, that I'm sure you won't regret getting a machine. RW and Labels may of been the reason you bought your machine, but you will find so many more reason to get completly hooded on embroidery. I was mainly a sewer before my husband bought me a embroidery machine. Now I'm mainly a machine embroideryer. Have fun with your machine and don't forget to show us your projects.
Welcome Mary. Where are you from? We are all so glad you joined us. There are great people here, tons of great designs, help with anything you need, and lots of great ideas.
Welcome Mary. I wanted my embroidery machine for the exact same reason you did. I love to make quilts with embroidered designs in the alternating blocks. Although in some cases, they become the main block with the pretty designs stitched on.

Hi Mary, I have the Babylock Ellageo and love it. I was the same way kept seeing designs way before I had a machine. This is a great place to be everyone is so helpful, can't wait to see some of your projects we all love pictures.
Hello Mary. Welcome to the forum. It's a great place to learn about machine embroidery. I took the class from my machine provider - but had limited success. but after being on here and learning all that these talented folks have taught me - I'm embroidering up a storm. Feel free to ask your questions. Someone is sure to know the answer.
Also post some of your work. We'd love to see what you've embroidered and also look at your quilts too!!! A few of us in here do a quilt block swap every few months - please feel free to joinus in that as well. Maybe you could help us "newbie quilters" with your experience!
Have fun!
Hi Mary and welcome aboard! This place has helped me 'sew' much! I have been doing ME for a year now and wonder how I ever lived without it! Congrats on the new machine.
God's Blessings, Deborah;

Thanks to everyone for the welcome! I live in La Quinta, CA. It's in the desert. The nearest place to buy anything sewing related is a JoAnn store, it's quite a drive so I don't go there much, mostly I order supplies and fabric online. I'm sure to have a bunch of questions. I'll look at the info on the forum, I'm sure to get answers to some common questions here. I won't hesitate to ask. Thank you all a bunch. Mary
