Pat I pray you did not get taken for a ride!! I have heard of a few that have! Hope that you paid via PayPal if you need to return.
As far as the mechanical issues I don't know a thing about her, sorry.
I bought a Euro Pro 7132 mechanical machine on eBay to sew with while my other machine is doing embroidery. I waited two weeks for it to get here. Today I was so excited because it was finally here. But when I tried to sew, it will only sew in reverse. I have read the manual and tried to contact the seller. But I need to use it now, not send it back and wait for another.
Anyone have one of these machine? Anyone have a clue what I need to do to get it to sew forward?

Try doing a search online for the machine and information on it.
Maybe you will find a dealer you could contact by email or phone.
Was this a new machine or used?

The machine was refurbished. It seems like a really nice machine except for this flaw. I tried an internet search and had no luck.
Put the name of the machine in the search.
I found many links.
Did you buy it from an individual or a machine shop vendor online?
Phone machine dealers in your area and see if anyone will fix it or look at it for you.
Contact who ever sold it to you and get your money back!

I tried the number Gartner gave me. The lady at Euro Pro talked me through it. There was something with the one-step buttonhole action that had been pressed. All I had to do was release it! YEAH!!!!
Praise God that was such a simple fix! I was worried for you. Happy sewing!!

Great news it was as simple as that!
If something happens to it will Euro Pro fix it for you?
Don't loose that phone number! LOL!
You may want to find out how to clean and oil the machine or anything else from Euro Pro over the phone.
Maybe that will help keep it in good sewing shape for you.

Glad you got the problem straightened out and you can sew now and be happy with your new machine. Congrats on the purchase.
Well, I am finally making friends with my new machine. Discovered a couple of things on my own that make it much easier to sew.
Today while Sam (my embroidery machine) stitched out 8 ornament covers, I made 10 tater baker bags and 5 pot holders! I like this doing two at a time. It will make getting ready for the craft fair a whole lot easier.
Looks like I'm a bit late, but read all this thread, and sounds like Sam and you are getting along well, now. Yahoo and glad he's moving forward instead of backing up.
Sounds like you two made a bunch of goodies together.
Pat - I just read your thread and thought "oh,no" when reading your intro. So glad to hear that you were in touch with the company. What a panic when you've just bought it on ebay. So glad that it has been resolved and that you can be super productive now. Good luck with all those craft show projects.
Angi - I don't know anything about sewvacdirect.com. Hopefully someone will have some good input.

So glad it was a simple fix and that you now can get sewing.
Glad to hear everything going well now. I can't imagine converting between sewing and embroidery all the time. My embroidery machine has never been used for sewing as I already had sewing machines. Church sales are a great place to look for a basic sewing mahine. Bought one last year for my daughter for $12 and it sews great. The year before I got one that I kept for only $5 because they said it wasn't working. It took a good cleaning and oiling and a bit of fiddling with tension but is now a very nice machine. Also something like these are a good way to learn about working on our own machines without risking messing up an expensive machine.
I have a Euro-pro 9101 I bought new in 2001. I have never had a problem with it. I just keep it clean and oiled periodically and it just sews what ever I want. Good luck with yours
I wish that I had seen this thread earlier. I don't have a EuroPro machine, but I was almost certain when I read your first message that I knew what the problem was. I've seen machines with automatic buttonhole functions get stuck in reverse (usually when the buttonhole is not finished as designed), as well as machines with a reverse function that actually has a "lock" to keep it going backwards, for whatever reason.
I have been a sewing teacher and assistant at a local middle school, and that was one thing that some of the kids were always running into. I am convinced that certain of the students were doing it on purpose to "prank" their peers, and then there were those who thought that they "knew it all" and they would just start pushing buttons and turning dials, only to plead for help when they discovered that they actually were making a mess of things.
I'm so glad to hear that you got your newbie machine back on track and are having such a productive time of it.
