Both look very nice and yes I will vote for you. It's amazing how kids will do something special then want to learn to sew. I think that is wonderful. Let's hope you win!!!
I entered the scarf dress contest at Burda Style recently. The first dress I made I really enjoyed doing at it was soooo sooo easy I wonder why I've never done any Shirring before. I made a second entry that my daughter helped with. She had so much fun she's asked me to teach her to sew!
Please if you have time go to Burda and vote for number 21, I promised Ricki Lynn that if I win the Bernina I would give her my Kenmore to learn to sew on.

Those are fantastic! I have never tried shearing before. Does look hard but than I thought quilting was tooI can't vote from vote but will when I get home!
Congrats on having a kid that want's to sew. It is funny when they realize sky's the limit with a wardrobe when they do it! Plus they learn a valuable craft!

There is always, always something to be thankful for.
They both look great. It is alway fun to try somehthing new in sewing. Good luck.
Thanks for the Support y'all!
Ricki is very excited every time someone votes for the Blouse because she helped to make it.
BTW the Designs on both the dress and the Blouse I bought from SiCk. You can't see the one on the Purple Blouse very well .. it looks more like a watermark.

Voted for you. Sweet dress and great that your daughter wants to learn to sew. Hope y'all win.
I have voted for you. I hope you win as well. Your daughter will be getting a great machine..kenmore..if you win the new one.
Yea that Kenmore is a workhorse! It's over 50 years old and I've never had a bit of trouble with it since "restored" it 4 years ago. All I needed to do to restore it is replace the drive belt and the "tire" for the bobbin winder. Oiled it up and she was good to go. She sews through anything. Those machines were built to last unlike most the "home" machines in the stores today.
I voted for you too, good luck. It is so great that your daughter is interested in sewing. Even if you don't win (and I think you will) I hope she still wants to learn. She will enjoy every minute of it, again good luck to you both.
I voted for you too, good luck in the contest![]()

The last several days of the contest I got so disgusted with the blatant spam voting and cheating going on that I and others had complained to Burda Style.
Burda Style stayed silent on the subject and in an effort to either force them to take action and disqualify the spam votes or at the very least keep the worst offender from winning I started spam voting myself.
At that point I no longer wished to win. I just wanted Burda Style to DO something!
After the voting ended they finally took a stance. I hope it was because near the end I had forced the worst offender to spam vote to such an extent that they would have no choice but to not honor the voting system. She spam voted herself over 600,000 votes.
So let this be a lesson to you ladies. If you want to enter a sewing contest of this kind where there's a real tangible prize check the rules. If there aren't any or they're not very clear save yourself a lot of anger and frustration, don't enter! I hope Burda Style learned a lesson so in the future they will have clear voting rules so no one will be tempted to spam vote themselves into a prize they don't deserve.
Gee Georgia I'm sorry this happened to you and your daughter. Burda is such a well known name you would think they would run a fair contest. I thought you had a great chance of winning and I'm sorry it worked out the way that it did. At the very least they should not award any prizes because of the obvious spamming.
