      Default FSL and Cutwork

Is FSL and Cutwork the same?

If not, what is the difference?

FSL is free standing lace that you stitch a fsl design out on wss...water soluble stabilizer and cutwork is a design that is digitized for cutwork where you will cut out certain parts of the design as per how it is digitized. FSL has been digitized to be free standing lace.

NO. Free Standing Lace is tons of thread made into a design that can be starched and be a bookmark, a hanging Christmas ornament or something like that.

Cutwork is embroidery that makes an outline on the fabric, you cut where indicated and than the machine completes the design.

Check out my album, I have a pink cutwork blouse in there.

Thanks so much. I wasnt sure if Cutwork was an old term for FSL, they look sort of the same on Embird.

Nope they are two totally different techniques. FSL usually has a "mesh" look whereas cutwork is just as the name says 'cut' work.

Excellent question, Tweetee, and I'm sure you've helped out others who would maybe be afraid to ask for themselves.
