Thanks for the help guys. I don't mean to hijack this thread but I am getting in a bit of a panic. Christmas is SO close and these have to ship. I dug through my stash and found some very light weight fabric. It is not cotton but I have a TON of it and it was free so I don't feel bad using it to test. I am going to cut the same size and use them to test backing, placement and pattern(need initials). I have all the sick backings and am going to use the magnahoop so we will see how it goes.

I will return and report

Best of luck Lilith (and don't panic!) - remember to use the smallest hoop that it will fit into (bearing in mind that the magnets take up some of the stitching space!) - I never use anything but magnahoops for my hooping, and cannot sing their praises enough!
A ton of free fabric sounds like a bit of a treasure (even if you exaggerate slightly LOL)

I really do like this alphabet. Rather "grand" without being over so. And the size is perfect for me. Will use it a lot on my towels.

The thin parts look like it would get lost in the loopies of the towel. It's a beautiful alpha and would look nice on pillow cases or top sheet of the bed linen.
