That's how I make all my pillow cases, just put Justins lizard one in there guess it was last week. When you are doing it for the first time it was why do I put wrong sides together first and stitch down the side and bottom. Brian just kind of shut down I guess but they are so easy to do easier to me than ripping out store bought ones.

Hi Susan, my quilting guild made 100 pillowcases for children with cancer. We used this idea with the French seams, and they turned out lovely. Dreama

      I love it!

Also, when I was a child wrapping paper was too expensive, esp it the gift was large or strange shape so my mother used decorated pillow cases. Those were our gift wrap and put away for the next year. We still have ours and love the memories.

This came at just the right time. I have been looking at a pillowcase my daughter made at school and trying to figure out how it was done(of course she couldn't remember). My brain just wasn't working but now I know.

When the kids were little I kept a stack of Christmas fabric (bought on clearance of course) and some pretty ribbon to wrap presents. It was cheaper than paper and the cats did not shred it.

Thank you. Somehow I missed it in the newsletter. I've often thought that it would be better to make them than buy them and then embroider them as I have been doing. Thanks again.

Armed with this great idea and instructions for the pillow cases I'm making a variety of dinosaur pillow cases using life like dinosaurs on fabric I've collected over the years with the cuff of the case in black . Then I bought single flat queen sized black sheets and making a cuff on the top in the matching dino fabric. Had a special designer king size bedspread made , black fabric on the back side and the front is a full size real true to life looking T-rex hunting .... it's truly a neat idea that all started with making pillow cases It's a gift for my dino digging 30 year old daughter..... thanks again for sharing that pillow idea ......

I guess doing the bedding is just to follow last years idea of using life like dinosaur fabric to make a complete bathroom set . I made extra wide shower curtain and bought a solid color matching curtain liner. Then quilted the same fabric and made toilet seat and tank cover to match. The year before I designed and carved out life like T-rex to make wooden paper towel and napkin holders for jumbo paper towels, that was a complete hit and a lot of messy fun to clean up. Then before that I designed T-rex pj's and jacket both also a hit. What can I say my youngest daughter is a happy camper who likes to get anything with a dinosaur theme.

Just picked up some fabric to make some of these for the grandkids for Christmas with their favorite characters. Will embellish with embroidery for one-of-a-kinds. Can't wait to get to them.

What a great idea. I have seen where parents make special pillow cases for the holidays as a way of decorating for the holidays.
Of course wouldn't it be neat to make a tooth fairy pillow case with pocket off to the side and in reach for the tooth fairy?
