Default 5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake!

      5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
      4 tablespoons flour
      4 tablespoons sugar
      2 tablespoons cocoa
      1 egg
      3 tablespoons milk
      3 tablespoons oil
      3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
      1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT ! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

Iceqtray, This sounds great. I think I may try this. I may cook at half power so I don't get a valcano going off. Thanks for the recipe and thanks for the warning.

Chocolate cake in 5 minutes? Sounds amazing, I have to give this a try.

Do you think it will still rise at a lower wattage? My microwave is only 800W. Perhaps I should just try.

Thanks for this lovely receipe, Im going to try it tonight for my boyfriend. Our microwave is only 850watt so I think I will just put it in for a minute or two more, should be no harm
      Cant wait to try it.

Oh yes how big are your coffee mugs? 250ml, 300ml, 500ml? Most of ours would be 250ml, really dont want to be cleaning up a microwave for the night lol

Annmarie, I use an 8oz. cup (about330ml). Put a small plate under your cup in the microwave.
Hope this helps. This cake is good with a little ice cream!

Annmarie, I checked my cookbook and found out that 8oz =250ml.
I, too, have to crunch on apples instead of cake and ice cream! You are not alone!

Oh even better no need to go searching for a bigger mug lol
Oh one more thing, is the flour plain flour or self raising flour?

Mine turned out a little rubbery and we used a big big mug to make it in. Glad I waited for hubby figured it would be nice and warm and then put ice cream on it or whiped cream, we sure had a good laugh about it but I haven't tried it again so hope it works for the rest of you.
