Hello everyone!
I am really new to this group and to machine embroidery in general.
I live in a small country town in Victoria and I have very limited access to sewing shops in general and machine embroidery supplies are SO limited it's unbelievable!
I am looking forward to reading everyone's posts and to hopefully learning heaps!
Cheers
Di

Hi Di, I did greet you under Introduce Yourself. Glad you joined us. There are other Australians in the forum. Oh you will learn heaps in this forum, so much that it may have your head spinning. I did find this link on Australian suppliers, just click on it and it will take you right to that thread:

Also under questions and Answers you can ask where other Australians get there supplies and also state that you are from Victoria and they may be able to direct you to some suppliers. Good Luck.

Hi, Di. Welcome to the group. We are glad that you joined us here. You will learn so much here and get lots of wonderful ideas for machine embroidery. And you will probably get addicted to machine embroidery as the rest of us have. There are several members who are from Australia. I'm sure they will check in. And Ginny gave a great link to some Aussie suppliers. Hopefully that will help. Good luck. Cathy
Welcome to DBS, Di. Always glad to have another prospective SiCKie join us. Feel free to ask questions of us and to share your failures as well as your successes; we can give guidance of what 'not to do' as much as what 'to do.' Looking forward to seeing some of your work and chatting with you. Have fun with the new hobby!
Never give up, never surrender.
Welcome Di, we are happy you have joined us here on the forum. We are more than happy to share all the knowledge we have on embroidery with you. Anything you want to know, just ask and someone will answer. Have fun as you browse and enjoy.
HI Di, so glad you joined this awesome group. Lots of fun, nice people, great projects and info on things. Hugz to you!

Dont worry Di ... I live 20mins from Melbourne and I'm still limited in supplies... thank heavens for the internetWe really dont seem to get a lot of choices in stores like the do overseas
Thankyou all for the lovely welcome. Special thankyou to Ginny for the fantastic link. Although it could be dangerous!
Embroidery suppliers + Credit card = DANGER!!
Now if I could just think of an excuse to take a day off work and sew then everything would be great!
Di

Hi Di, welcome to DBS. I am also from Victoria, in the western suburbs.
There are some great people here, and if you have any questions, just ask! Some one will know the answer.
Where is Victoria are you?
Hello Di and welcome to the Sick forum. You'll enjoy the commeraderie here as well as all the good tips and stuff. Loads of talent and knowledge to be found here. Enjoy yourself!
Welcome Dibba! You will love all of the supplies and designs offered here at DBS. Enjoy.
Thanks again evryone for the welcome. I am in a little country town up towards Shepparton. I don't travel a lot so I don't get to shops that much
I do enjoy my shopping trips when they happen though
I have to attend a conference in Melbourne shortly and I am thinking of staying on for a day afterwards to have a bit of a shop. Does anyone have any suggestions of shops I shouldn't miss?
Di
I know Shepparton well, my mum lived there for a few years up until 6 months ago when shwe moved back down to Melbourne. Used to go up there at least once a month. I still go up there every couple of months to the SPC shop in Mooroopna to stock up on supplies.
Depends on what you are shopping for. You cant go past spotlight if it is fabric you are looking for, but also, the Queen Victoria Market is great if you are staying in Melbourne itself. They have lots of goodies there. Ive also heard the South Melbourne Market is good too, although I havent been there. And then the is DFO on Spencer Street which is a blast for bargains.
Why didn't I think of the Queen Vic? Brilliant suggestion
I will be staying at Melbourne Uni so the Vic market would be perfect. I haven't been there in so long.
Di
Hi Dibba
Welcome!!! I am also in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne....Yo ucan't go past Harbour Town either ...my favourite shopping destination lately...
Love
