I wouldnt think it would be an issue, as long as you sell it as a used copy, but to be sure I would probably check with the dealer that you bought it from in the first place. As you say, legal and above board is the best way to go.
I purchase the Embroidery Magic2 on line from a dealer still sealed put it on my system read the info and that was it I like the program i already have much better and felt some one else could benifit from it but I cant afford to just give it away was wondering if it would be legal to sell it for a small price or trade it to some one for something i need that they have so we both benifit what would you guys suggest
I want things to be legal and above board so what do you suggest

My dealer actaully suggested selling my old program. I'll sell it at a used price, and be up front about it being the older version of the program. I still think it would make a buyer happy, even if it is old.
Darla,
I would love to get a digitizing program that I can use..Can you tell me what format it saves to. How much would you want for it, or what would you like to trade? Can you tell me little about it and is it easy to use..You see I have had some training (very little) with a commercial program that was very user friendly..Can't remember the name though..Let me know what we can work out...God Bless

As others said, you could ask the dealer, but probably the best way to protect yourself and do everything "legal and above board" would be to check the fine print on the packaging. It should specify exactly how you can transfer your license.
And good for you to take the high road and do everything the "right" way! We need more folks like you in the embroidery world.
Susan
good ? I would think if you had the cd or togle and ID number not a copy I would say it would be ok, but if you downloaded it I am not sure how that would be legal but than you did buy it and its your property , our laws have not kept up with the internet.a very interesting question
I agree, check the packaging and with the dealer..if it is alright..I would be very interested..

Since you need the actual EM2 disk to be able to use the program, I think you would be just fine selling it.
It is a good little program, saves to DST (although that is an easy format to convert to others, and is frequently even readable by most home machines), but it has very little documentation. You might want to mention that to whomever you sell it to, and recommend that they get a tutorial to learn the program.
Also, EM2 only *sometimes* will work with a Vista machine. If you have Windows XP, it is sure to work, but Vista is hit or miss (if you get it to work, it will work, but some people have not been able to get it to work at all).
Good luck, Darla. I hope you can find a customer, and I am glad that you have a program that you are happy with.
True that may be part of my trouble no real documents and I have a vista computer and found my system has a odd version of vista that lots of programs do not quite work right with.
The program I am now using doesn't have much documentation with it but once one opens the program its very easy to figure out.
Hope all the free designs I have been posting and giving away do not offend anyone its a way i can share what seems to come easy for me I am working to figure out how to have less jump stichesI seem to be learning new things about the program almost weekly so not really need to have to start over with a new program and spend more money to get the tutorials then I may have paid for the program before its all done with.
There were no designs that offended me. I am grateful for all of the beautiful and wonderful designs. Thank You Very Much.
Thank You, Have aDay
Yours Truly Miss Chatty Chatterbox
Darla,
I sent you a PM this AM..I have XP so should have no problems..I guess if it is too complicated I can always find someone to help or get a tutorial program if I have to.
